| Any Chuck Palahniuk fans out there?
He became my favorite author the first time I quit drinking to help pass the time unfortunately I read all his books in about 3 weeks but he has another coming out in May which I am anxiously awaiting. If you didn't know it he is the author of Fight Club. He's also written: Survivor Lullabye Choke Invisible Monsters Diary Haunted Snuff and a few others that are slipping my mind at the time. If you're into books that are bizarre you'll love him. If you ever saw Fight Club: The Movie, liked it, and like to read you'll love him. |

| Make sure to catch the movie after you're done reading it. It isn't quite the adaptation they were able to make with Fight Club but it's still a pretty good movie if you like a dark comedy but its definitely not for the faint of heart ha. If you like it I'd definitely suggest giving Lullabye a shot next. Probably my favorite out of all of them.

| Ha. Yeah Palahniuk is a F-ed up guy but I love his writing. All his books have a pretty crazy twist at the end.

Yes he's my favorite! Choke is my fav of his. I dug the movie too but you have to have read the book to really get it. I just got around to reading Snuff like a week ago. I liked it okay but it seemed a lil downhill. I definitely recommend him to anyone who hasn't read him yet! I can't wait to read Pygmy! If anyone has lemme know how you like it.

Chuck is one of my favorite authors. I always describe him to my curious friends as someone who "always provides me with a nice little head f*ck". I just finished Snuff (Loved it!). I just started reading Survivor. So far so good! Anybody read Pygmy? Is it as good as others? I'm afraid to read Haunted. I keep putting it back. Should I be so hesitant? |

Warren Ellis is hilarious...his humor isn't as consistently flowing as CP, but his funny moments are outbursts of hilarity. Also do like Palahniuk, but tbh, Invisible Monsters left a bad taste in my mouth. Just sorta "meh" overall. I enjoyed Fight Club, Haunted, and Rant. Might pick up a copy of Choke or Stranger Than Fiction next.

Half way done with "Choke" and I must say Chuck is right on the pulse of the mind of modern day society. I had to go over my gratitude list because he is so cynical. Ha Ha I love it though to be honest. Not as fascinating as "Fight Club" but very good and a easy read.

I highly recommend Stranger Than Fiction to anyone who hasn't yet had the pleasure. That book introduced me to Amy Hempel, and my life hasn't been the same since.

Palahniuk is one of my favorites. I must admit I LOATHED "Snuff", and haven't read Pygmy partially because of how disappointed I was with my last Palahniuk experience. I adored Haunted. My own Palahniuk-preferred list goes like this, more or less in order of favoriteness -Survivor -Fight Club -Choke -Haunted -Diary -Just about anything by any other author. -Snuff.

I like how tight his writing is, and his short, snappy way of saying things. I've read Invisible Monsters and Fight Club. The former was cool and the latter is obviously amazing. I found a quote by him: "When you go out with a drunk, you'll notice how a drunk fills your glass so he can empty his own." |

Great to see all the love from Palahniuk fans. I started this thread a long time ago during one of my first attempts at recovery before relapsing for a long time. I haven't gotten around to Pygmy yet but plan to here soon. Anyone else catch Palahniuks "tiny" extra roll in the movie Choke?
