I've been around the internet for a wile, participated in unmoderated bulletin boards (forums) and experienced more than my fair share of being flame baited by trolls. Its kind of an surprise when that did happen to me today here at SR.

One thing that I have worked on as an addict in recovery is to not take the bait. Sure there was a time in recovery that I would feed the troll, get sucked in and then the whole thing would develop into a big mess of ego posturing from both sides....

Its baffling to have such a despise for something that happened many years ago. Never would have I thought that entering a recovery community that I would have to face something that I thought was long forgotten.

I have had recent times where if I could somehow escape what has troubled me all those years ago, I would be willing go. How the lingering unresolved issues resurface in the mist of being on a wellness journey resurface time and time again. There must be a way around...no...only...

I call that phenomenon cause and effect. In recovery I need to look at the causes so I can better predict the chain of events that deliver unto me an outcome. In active addiction I was disinterested in the grounds of what I created through being caress and short sighted. Yet the effects would anger me or leave me feeling hapless to endure my horrendous fate.
