What a day! It started at 3am with a panic attack that woke me up. I had never had one until I got clean/sober. Probably because I was on so many benzos.

I woke up startled and frightened. I had a psych dr appt today and I did go. He said that I am having panic attacks. He wants me to come to him twice a month for therapy. He totally understands my aversion to taking pills. He is the same dr that saw me through detox.

It pisses me off to have to go back to therapy. Our families of origin can really screw us up.

I am happy to be clean and sober. I do get to feel today. I guess that is good.

Sorry so negative.

I think I am way to boring to have a blog.

There's no such thing as being too boring to have a blog. Do this blog or any other way of writing for you - writing can be such a useful tool.

Our FOO can screw us up but the good thing about recovery is that we can get unscrewed and stop the past from repeating itself. Think of the extra therapy as another layer of the onion being peeled off.

Tanya, you are not boring! These are your words and feelings. They are very pertinent and valid. Write them if you want to. You know you have support here .

I'm sorry for your panic attacks... keep working with your doctor though. Here's hoping things get better for you soon.

I get pi$$ed about being in therapy sometimes, working through family of origin stuff, but every so often I feel a freedom that I've never experienced before, and it inspires me to keep slugging away.

Feelings are scary - I'm glad you're working through them, clean and sober, Tan.
