of selling the dyna, and buying a house. going to look at the place today.. 4 bedroom colonial, w attached 2 car garage, on 1.5 acres about 20 minutes south of Lake Ontario. It's listed for $75 k and I have about 2/3rd's down seling the bike would give me a cushion. ( and motivate me to get to work on the shovel for next year) It would be 15 miles closer to work, and since it needs a kitchen ( cupboards, counters, and appliances) I could drag my camping stove and spend te nights right there after work til I get it ready to move into or rent. I include the last because although I like my job, I haven't seen the money yet. Supposed to get a review in August, and if they pony up, I want to cut down the 350 miles a week I drive. I barely feel like going riding anymore because I spend all week on the road as it is. Well if nothing else I'm going to ride up that way today with a couple friends and take a peek. at least that'll get me in the wind. Wish me clarity and common sense. |

20 years from now... "well I put the sink in this past weekend" All in all, it sounds great and I could live off a camp stove for a long time if single and feel it was perfect common sense to do so.(20 years worth) A hot plate and a microwave did me well for 2 years. As for what tends to motivate... I would say do as much as you can, as fast as you can because we both know that the 5 minute repair always turns into a 3 day adventure and motivation doesn't always hang around like we would like it to. lol you guys know me too well. I took 2 of my buds with me. We got off the bikes and looked at the huge rut running through the gravel driveway down to the garage ( w/ no doors) then stepped through the 3/4 inches of silt ( runoff) that was covering the cement floor. That was deterrant enough for me, but I figured since we had made the trip anyway we might as well look around. The missing kitchen was about 15 % of what is wrong wit the place. It was a bank repo and it looks like the prevous occupants took everything except a few of the carpets. I mean we could see the ductwork for the furnace ... but no furnace. The back yard literally drops about 12 feet from the 1st floor and is a swamp. maybe with about 20 ton of fill and 30k of time and materials it could be rehabilitated. Too much for me. |

out in the desert bank repo really meant drug seizure. whenever the feds did a major grow or lab bust they would seize the house, gut all the wiring, cabinets and plumbing, then put it back on the market. there were some real nice windowless, doorless, kitchenless cribs out there on some primo acerage. |
