I have to tell you people how much I appreciate this forum. Riding has been in my life since (like all of us) I was a kid. I got my first bike (Kaw 100 dirt) from my Pa when I was 8. Rode competitively till I was 17 and ruined my knee and back. Got my first HD when I was 18, a 1978 XLCH Sporty. The rest is ancient history. Jails, institutions and damned near death more times than I care to crow about. A 4 year prison term in there too. My only complaint is that I can't meet ya all in person. You can take the boy off the bike but not the bike outta the boy. Sawbones cut me too many times to ride much anymore, maybe to the store, etc. Ride to church and to meetings once in a while. I had 8 years sober on Valentines Day. Some great 24 hrs. behind and ahead. Ever think about a Sobreity Scoot? I know of a Few outta Denver and what have ya. Blessings to All, Jimmy The Hammer |

Welcome to SR Jimmy! As my friend Bill J says, "there's plenty of room at the curb". Lots of good folks here.

I attended the Serenity Run in Western Colorado back in '92, and have been thinking for several years about making the MMAAC run. Maybe after I'm done healing from my accident? There's also Founder's Day (this weekend in Akron), which draws a bunch of sober riders year after year. Maybe I could make both of 'em - a Mid-West "comeback tour" of sober events. Wouldn't that be sweet?
