Thanks for the welcome

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Felt like walking into an AA meeting for the first time. Ya don't know anyone, but you feel like you do!

Found it...

Now I have a 1990 Honda Pacific Coast...shaft drive, liquid cooled, v-twin....nice touring bike.

Not sure what the spring will bring. I am thinking of a toring bike or a large size sportster.

Have an 800 Kawi now.

yep, I ride and just love it! I ride with Christian Motorcyclists Association and sometimes with Sober Bikers United. But I ride a lot with just friends from my home group. My PC is 800 cc...plenty of HP to get me down the road!!

What kind of kawi do you have? I ride all year long for the most part. winters aren't that bad here in Kentucky.

Chat w/ya soon!

02 Vulcan Classic

The 800 does great on the flat stuff. Would need a jet kit for mountain riding.
Does over 110 very easy. Have the ticket to prove it *LOL* Only one though.

I already have 40,000 on it.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but do want to ask:

Have you ever had that bike at elevation? My shovel, jetted for the relative lowlands of Central Texas, ran just fine at the top of Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, at just under 12000 feet. A few years later, going over Monarch Pass (11300 feet, but a steeper approach) the shovel was breathing hard, but still made it through.

If I were living at those altitudes, I'd probably rejet, but for a week-long visit the standard jetting worked well. YMMV.

Hills and mountains of PA. Full stock and weighed down with a large duffle bag. Could only get 70 MPH at full throttle on a few of the upgrades.
One up (no gear) it does ok. The extra weight (about 100 lbs) and a high mountain didn't go well together. Was told a intake system or jetting would fix the problem and not bother my normal riding. Because such trips are not that often, I never had it done. (still stock)

Maybe that's God's way of keeping you out of traffic court?
