Independence Day

Of course, for those of us in recovery, every day C&S is "independence day," but this Independence Day is the one everyone else recognizes!

With all my aches and pains, I wasn't up to riding the Harley this morning, but I did take the Beemer out for a breakfast run.

My wife and I found a Tex-Mex place in Pflugerville (north of Austin, and the "P" in Pflugerville is silent), which is housed in an old saloon and serves great migas and home-made tortillas. Took the backroads to and fro, so we caught some nice breezes before the temps got too high.

Now we're getting ready to have some good friends (most in recovery, themselves) over for surf and turf on the barbie this evening.

sounds like a good day Bill. I had never heard of Pflugerville until I started listening to the lounge lizards lol.

I have a recipe here for Migas but have never actually tried making them.

I worked around the place on Saturday getting some long overdue yard work and general vehicle maintenance done, then Sunday went on a memorial ride for a local boy that was killed in a freak dirt bike accident this time last year. Took it easy on monday and after a little restoration project on a rescued gas grill, I went for a little ride with a few friends to get ice cream, then came home and threw a couple ribeyes on the grill for dinner, then went back down to my buds house to watch a movie. Wound up staying out a little too late and overslept a half hr this morning. Still managed to get 32 windows installed, so if we get the trim done tomorrow we'll hit the day ahead bonus and I'll have Thursday off.

Put the flagpole on the bike. Bought a new 3x5 stars and stripes.
Took a ride into Boston in an attempt at finding a place I could stop and watch the fireworks. Boston was almost as crowded with traffic as Laconia. Well ok it was as crowded but cages can be passed when you only have two wheels *LOL*
I have put the colors on the bike many times. July 4th of this year has been the first time I had seen people take pictures of the bike with the colors on it. I happen to be on it at the same time. One was taken at 60 MPH on the highway. Two were taken in down town near the Boston Common. At first I thought it strange that they would want to take a picture but digital cameras allow click click click and delete delete delete as many times as wanted and at no added cost. Maybe I brought a smile to 3 people or maybe 3 people were humoring me? *LOL*

Hey best, you should have taken a pic of your bike to show us...

Nice pic. but very blurry on my end.. ooks like the firework that was in the sky, must have been huge and beautiful..
The fireworks were beautiful where I llive also, better than ever.. But I started my hair on fire, while playing with the kids, with sparklers Lucky we got it out, and I have so much hair
