I was well into adulthood and my own sobriety before my father stopped drinking, but even at that late date it was a blessing. He was sober the last 17 years of his life, and they were the best we ever had.

i didn't get clean n sober til my son was 8. took another 4 years til [rightfully] i got his trust back
so he's 18now and is living and working with me.
