sometime this month i passed the one year mark, again. i am thankful i hadn't built myself up to too high. didn't have that far to fall, whew! wouldn't want to drink over taking a drink. haven't been well enough to work for awhile and there are more people living in my house than i really care for, but we are getting by. my truck is literally falling apart around me. last week someone gave me a 1987 ford F150 crew cab, all it really needed was a fuel pump and some tlc. even has good rubber on it and a sony cd player. the bike is on hold, but it's still in MY garage. keep thinking of hitting a meeting, but i have issues with preaching, confidentiality and anonymity and am severly limited by my rural local and the price of gas as to meeting choices. i was feeling guilty and thankful last night to the ones who first put out their hands to me. guilty for not being there, for having moved on. thankful for the strength of the gift they gave me. i am grateful as well to all those who showed me how not to do it and hope that where they are now is a better place , or that they at least have the presence to do it better next time around. still i am glad that they were there. and i am thankful that after the 30th i will be able to walk more than 20 feet again. it has been over 5 years since i have been able to go for a walk without worrying about getting home, or to ride my bicycle, so this is going to be really good. i have alot to be thankful for. |

I'd shout a hearty Woohooo! in recognition of the accumulation of that year again. But somehow I feel like you'd rather hear me say " Thanks for being here today, and I'm grateful for all the other days you've been a flashlight holder on the side of a dark rainy road when I had about as much as I could stand". Hell I think Bill and Bob and Jimmy would have been impressed with the way you've always reached a hand out to anther drunk / addict. Happy Thanksgiving! I'll throw some jalepeno's on my stuffing and have an extra spoonful of French's original roasted turkey gravy in your honor. |

What can I say, I had to respond, but that was so touching, I am speechless. I am grateful to have come in here to read that.

Top shelf for sure. Gooch put it the best any one could. Thank you for being here Tramp Oh and Gooch jalepenos in the stuffing? Sounds like a great idea. Would know when the turkey is done because it has a burnt butt *LOL*

About gratitude: I was invited to tell my story at a group about an hour north of here, this past Saturday night. I took a stool, so I wouldn't have to stand the entire time Glad to hear you're doing well.
