| anthony hopkins in this movie reminds me of my uncle who raced flat track. in 64 he won southwest regional. he was disqualified for riding in shorts and shower thongs, and, you got it, no helmet. that was the first year for helmets. he packed his bikes in his studebaker truck and headed south, never to be seen again. guess America lost some charm for him. he loved the bikes not the rules. |

| Million Little Pieces Has anyone else read this book? Supposedly the author lied, but I still wanted to check it out. I am half way through and am having some issues and am thinking I should put it down. I tend to get absorbed by a book and that's what I'm doing with this one. I keep playing scenes over and over in my head of passages that I've read and my heart reaches out to this character because I know there are people out there like that..... I thank God everyday that I didn't have to get that far down before I got it, ya know? |

| Thanks for the insight guys! I think I'm finished with it myself... I think I'll go back and finish Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. |

| A year or so before that book was released in the States, Jackie found a Euro edition in Ireland, and brought it home thinking I'd want to read it. I plodded through a chapter or two before giving up. First, because it felt like a unrecovered addict's typical self-aggrandizing BS (which, as it turns out, it was ), but also because his writing, IMHO, sucked.Only wish I'd kept that copy, for whatever collector's value it might have in the future. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a much better book. Took me three readings to get past the saga of Pirsig's trip, and his relationship with his son, to the philosophy at its core. Even now I could stand to read it again. |

| Beyond the Law and other biker flicks (and books) are still available from Whitehorse Gear - Videos/DVDs . However, I recently found several moldy oldies (including one I'd been searching for for years) at CDconnection.com the best CD/DVD store on the web! . I got sale prices on most items, and free shipping, to boot! Get on their mailing list, and you'll receive free shipping coupons and other special offers throughout the year. It's also a great place to dig up that hard-to-find CD you've been wanting! BTW, Beyond the Law is $7.71 at CD Connection. ![]() |

| Damn, I gotta get out more... Tramp, Gooch! There you %%(&&^$# road dogs are! *huggin his Bros* I gotta get around the site more. I could not agree with ya enough. There was a day that no matter how much jack ya had ya couln't call yourself a biker. Pisses me off so damned bad to hear these socialites tryin to talk the lingo, one of 'em rolls up on me as I was gettin off Mertyl at Omaha HD, and says; dude, that's a sweet bike, I'll give ya 8 grand for it right now. Now ten years ago, he still be there, rootin around on the ground tryin to find his teeth-Rarly can attest that 8 G's wouldn't by Mertyl's engine. Now I aint braggin on my sled (bullsh!t, I am too), but I am tryin to say the kid with the 07 Roadking didn't know his butt from a hole in the ground. enough o that. Anyone get HD's rag called Enthusiast? Did ya scope out ol King Kong? I couldn't see the top end of either of the two engines, but she has a pan bottom. I wonder if that sled is stock all the way and sports 2 1200s in her all pan or 2 pans customed, that wouldn't make a hell of a lot o sense, it's a whole lot easier to do it with a shovel and pan bottom-makes more sense to performance too, wise-dang I'd like to see the whole bike. |

| CRS and fed up!! (chuckling) Now which one is Myrtle? I feel ya on the new and shiney. When ya turn and walk away in disgust, (and to keep the assualt charges to a minimum), they think yer an azzhole. The next thing ya know, they've started a new one chapter group and call it an M/C and themselves bikers. |

Now let's talk reality. The real deal Mertyl aint a '01 FLSTF. She's an '01 FLSTF Custom. At a dealership, it don't mean a hell of a lot, it's gonna bluebook what its gonna bluebook; dig? The dealer, if he's worth a crap aint gonna try to tack on 5 g's for chrome and gee gaws. Which I tried to keep to just what pleased me on my bike. Where I put serious jack in her was in the mill and the power train, period. The guy insulted me, but I let him go with his ignorance and kept my childishness to a minimum. Here she is, hope ya can see her good. http://a639.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...3dbb3f3c86.jpg Peace

Alot of times I get the shiney new ones coming to me with tall talk. I try and warn them with comments like, "Man, have you taken her to the strip and see what she'll do?" They come back with, " It's never been to the track, I dont know." Everything else is like to me. Then I get these kinda looks when they still see me with them, I did have a guy offer me $10K last year. I didn't get offended on that one.
