Yeah...I went, had a bit of fellowship, danced the Southern rock tunes(alone naturally),and was home in time to ring in the New Year with my kiddo.I woke up safe and warm in my own home with no hangover,no regrets and no warrants out for my arrest.Life is good

Oh, I tore it UP last night!

My wife and I fell asleep on the couch around 11:00, and somehow woke up at precisely 11:59 p.m. At midnight I kissed Jackie and wished her a Happy New Year. At 12:01 I walked out to the garage and wished each of the bikes a Happy New Year. By 12:10 Jackie and I were in bed and on our way back to sleep.

Damn, I used to know how to party!

Seriously, it may not sound like much, but it beats hell out of a lot of those "fun" nights I had back in the day! I love being sober!

Funny how the perception of a good time changes in recovery. We had a nice dinner with friends today, came home and played Scrabble and watched a movie, and there is honestly nothing I'd rather be doing.I enjoy time with my kid and time with my friends and it beats being high anytime.I love the life God is giving me.

Man the northern lights were dancing as my daughter and I brought in the new year. The colder it is the more they dance(does that sound familiar to anyone). It was only about -15 which actually is warm after -50. There were lots of fireworks, everyone saves them for new year because you can't see them in July. The blessings were many and I remember it all with no regrets.
Good to hear others will rember where they were at the end of 03.
