| Vespa/Scooter advice.
Greetings, all. Well, I am not a biker myself, but have a lot of sober biker friends, and have wanted to get not a bike but a Vespa, or small scooter for around town. I know, laugh if you will! ![]() Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions? I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place, I'm looking for something small, in the 2k range, $ wise. We've down to 2 Honda Metropolitans and a Ruckus. They are great fun. Incredible fuel mileage and as long as you do not have to cruise at much more than 35, they just rock. Reliable, they are bulletproof - water cooled! I like to say they get a thousand smiles per gallon. I started riding with my kids on the streets when they were really young. We used to go on 40+ mile day trips, great fun. One of the joys of sobriety!

The bigger tires make it a lot more forgiving over potholes and rougher surfaces. I've seen a lot of people dump a lot of money into them looking for more power, best to leave them stock. It is what it is, in other words. I like it because it offers better legroom than the Metropolitans. I'm about 260lbs and 6'4" tall, so a lot of people laugh when them see me on one. Nice to be able to make people happy without doing much....
