Hey now.....

Not real new to recovery (Nov. 27, 1986) and not new to riding (early 70s) but thought I'd share a little here.

Hi, my name is J.C. and I'm an addict. Got out of the joint the last time, in Nov. of 1986. Went to my first meeting (cause a woman asked me to.....said it's a program of attraction and I was attracted) the same month and I've been here every since.

Didn't really think to much about getting clean but was sure tired of doing time. One day at a time, I'll be celebrating 23 years on the 27th of this month.

I've rode just about everything and some never ran but now have a 2010 Screamn Eagle Street Glide that's already been a very deep money hole with all the mods, a 2004 Screamin Eagle Street Glide that's also equally tricked out and the wife rides an 09 Street Glide that has it's fair share of mods and currently working on more for hers.

I've rode ocean to ocean, Canada and Mexico. This summer we rode up to British Columbia on one ride, then North and South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Zion National Park on another ride. Next year we have Key West, Florida slated.

Look forward to sharing and getting to know some of you.

JC, if you ever ride through AZ again please stop in and say hello.

Compared to your sober time I'd say I'm still pretty wet behind the ears, I'm just beginning to open my eyes to all the gifts that recovery holds. I started riding again a couple years ago, when the weather starts to warm up in the spring my wife and I will throw camping gear on the bike and explore new ground. My next mod will be a comfortable touring seat, this year she got her license and she's been drooling over the new Honda DN-01. All these things will come in time, God willing.

Glad you're here, I'll look forward to hearing more from you.

Scott

Welcome JCZ,

This forum has been slow as of recent times, but there was a time when several posted and even gathered together for a few days together. I've always thought that the Street Glides were one of the sharpest Harley's. I like the lines how they have a low profile. I take AA meetings into the Missouri Prisons every week and am reminded of the consequenses of relapse. My last DWI cost me a 4yr sentence, 5 yr probation, and 10 yr license revocation......I rode a bicycle between the ages of 52 to 60. got my license back in January 2007 and bought a 2007 RK classic.....I don't want to go back to the way it was.......clean and sober is such a better and lasting high, all that is required is to trust God, clean house, and help others.

after a few posts you can post a picture of your scoots......looking forward.

Weeding out the wannabes, huh?

I can relate and know exactly what you mean. I did H&I for years after I discharged parole. Spent most of my life not knowing we didn't have to live like that. Now I'm living life and enjoying it.

By the way, sent an email out to some of those that I ride with, providing a link to this forum. Maybe we'll see some of them here. They're all riders and active in recovery.

What size do photos have to be to post here?

Or maybe I should be asking....how many posts do I have to have to post a photo here?

I think 10 posts is the magic number so you should be good to go.
