| Going for a ride
Well I just checked the ol' sobriety date and it looks like I've been on the wagon for a month this time. Since there's always some goodness to balance the badness, this past weekend saw the return of that which made me drink last time. Full-blown heart attack symptoms. Been to the doc lotsa times. Heart's all good. They give me antacids that kinda help So on those days where I'm sick of feeling like I am just about to die, it's really nice to take a drink and let it slip away for a while. But, there's an alternative. I have found that the wind in my face takes my mind off the whole thing and lets me relax. So right this moment I'm taking off my sneakers and replacing them with my good old ring boots (the ones I bought 18 years ago at a hardware store) and I'm gonna go ride instead of drink, brothers. Thank you all for the support over the past month -Goat |

You were not kidding about the bugs in the teeth! I think every gnat in every corn field decided to hang out in the center of the road for the honor of smacking into my face It's been raining here too... I went out during a respite that looked like it would last a few hours, but I brought the raingear just in case. I don't mind the rain-needles in my face so much as I mind losing my cell phone to a rain storm. -Goat |

Hey Goat, I get those fake heart attacks sometimes to...and I to have self medicated them away with beer. I've been to the docs a lot to check em out and they always give me a clean bill of health...very weird. It's sunny and warm here today and my bike is sitting down in the parking lot waiting for me to come and ride it home from work...which I am going to do in approximately 13 minutes |

Ok, so I went for a quick evening ride tonight. Mind you, I rode for about 4 hours earlier today and noted that the full helmet I wore in case of rain was totally covered in gnat carcasses. Mind you, I rode not two days ago and noted on this forum that the gnats were out in force. But when I set out to ride my only thought was "gee, it doesn't look like rain anymore" so I set out with my half helmet. Well the gnats were back with reinforcements! It might as well have been raining! Don't worry, though, I took out about a quarter million of them on my 15 mile ride, so I'm sure I've put a serious dent in their numbers Oh, yes, for the cherry on top, one of those yellow dye packs with wings landed squarely on my glasses. Sheesh! Hehe, I only complain when I enjoy stuff, by the way, it's part of the enjoyment for me -Goat |

And BTW...one of my best brothers, not a "problem drinker"...bought it on a curve here in mid-Michigan, tryin' to wipe those knats out of his helmet...I never cried so much in my life...consider yourself blessed...
