Hi Bikers, Sharon here an Alcoholic. Been sober since 8-11-90 as the result of a failed attempt to end my misery. Thank my HP for that failed attempt. However my family stepped in with interention to save my life and sent me to rehab for 28 days. There i picked up the tools and knowledge of my disease of alcoholism. That soon set me on the road of recovery following the simple 12 steps taken one day at a time. For that i am truely grateful. Since ive returned back to my home town of Baton Rouge several yrs. ago many changes have occured in my life. One is my divorce of 25 yrs ending peacefully and sucessfully. Very rare from stories ive already heard. Next, was to meet a charming man whom has very similar interests as I. We both have a love for Harley Bikes. We both have recovery in common and a new interest in tattoos. We look forward to adding a new one next month. Now....does anyone know the group PARAMORE? She has beautiful red hair in her video. I just recently added red highlights to my own hair for the first time in my life to achieve her look. Im not familiar with all the new colors they have out there, but does anyone have infor on the red color she has so i can get mine to look just like that? Maybe there's a name they call that red. PARAMORE anyone...... Thanks guys for letting me share.

Hey that Hayley Williams is pretty cute and dang that's some shocking red hair! I know zippo about hair coloring. Lol But I've come to really like change, this weekend I'm going to start Weight Watchers with my fiance. Time to lose some of those pounds I packed on in early recovery!

That's also Statehood Day in Arizona We'll be at the ballet watching Romeo and Juliet while you're getting married. Hopefully this will be our final and lasting marriage, right?

My hair has changed colors too..........went from brown to gray. Actually hair that has lost its pigmentation is clear.....I now have clear hair. "Happy, joyous and free" means just that! The word happy has it root in the old English word "hap" and means something has to happen......Red tinted hair is happening girl...go for it and be happy with it. Joy is a different kind of word. To me joy is a spiritual force that is there if something, or nothing, happens. To me joy is interwoven with gratitude. Because I am clean and sober I am grateful not to be dead. Even if things happen that are not good, if I don't use, my joy about being clean and sober can not be taken from me. I also have joy because I have a personal relationship with the God of my understand whom I choose to call Jesus. "The joy of the LORD is my strength." Neh. 8:10 Joy and strength for me are interchangable.......joy is a spiritual force. Free.......as long as I am sober I am free from the grip that alcohol and drugs had on me. As long as I work the 12 steps I have a way to be free from resentment, anger, jealousy, fear, and pride. As long as I am willing to work with someone who needs help, I will be free from the bondage of myself.

| Happens to us all! I like that! One of my favorite passages in the book Alcoholics Anonymous is on page 133: "We are sure God wants us to be happy, joyous, and free. We cannot subscribe to the belief that this life is a vale of tears, though it once was just that for many of us." I forget that sometimes, and need to be reminded. Thanks, Toad!

Bill...........Good to see you and Jackie again. I am hungry for good Tex-Mex food. Possibly when I pass through Austin again this year we can go to that place where they knew you, and gave us excelent food and great service.

Hey guys!! Bill, it's so good to see that pic of you and Jackie! You make a great looking couple. I hope to meet her one of these days!! Just the other week I felt that I needed a change...a physical change. The weight isn't coming off much yet...too much to do my my imbalanced thyroid levels after the surgery. So...I checked online to make sure they'd still take my hair since it has been colored and they will. So, I cut off 10 or so inches and donated it to Locks of Love. What a great organization! I then came home after the haircut and colored it dark, reddish brown. What a change...from waist length hair to shoulder length hair and then darker too! It felt good.... Now, my old home group has asked me to speak...darnit (LOL) and that's gonna make me feel good on the inside (one's it over and I've quite obsessing about it!!). Feelin' good on the outside and on the inside...man, what a program we have in AA!! I used to HATE change, now I'm good with it...mostly!!! Hugs, Kym

Kym, I bet ur hair is very pretty and stylish. At least with hair u can do almost anything with it and it will grow back. I am also one of those that likes to try new things. However it has taken me 50 yrs to finally try highlights and i love it. I just dont know why it took me so long. Changes in my life all over the place. Hair, tattoes, divorced, engaged.....not all in that order tho....lol What else does my HP have in store for me...... Im enjoy life and loving new changes. We r definitely not a glum lot. Right?

Sharon here still an alcoholic. Well.....since i last post here, Ive gone to get red lighlights in my hair and it looks nice. Black and red....but not gothic looking. My fiance and I are still on track with our marriage on Feb. 14th. Its a simple exchange of vows at 4pm followed by getting tattoos at 6. A few days ago we were disappointed because we learned there wasnt any open times available that Saturday after we married to get our tattoos. This afternoon my fiance went to see what he had available for next Friday or even the following Friday.....Well he told him that there was a cancellation Saturday Feb. 14th at 6pm and wanted to know if we still wanted it..... You betcha we do..! We are soooooo pumped now.... Always enjoy the neat exciting changes happening in our sober lives. I dont know which one were more excited about..... Marriage or tattoos.....lol BOTH for sure.
