| The Here and Now.
As an alcoholic, I understand the importance of staying in today, in the here and now. I am continually reminded of how bad things were for me and what happened and what it is like for me today. No matter how bad things get, it could always be worse and I am give no guarantee for tomorrow. Today I was at the gymn after my workout. The gym plays good old time music, songs that are classic now. Everyone that knows me is aware that I have a wide variety of music in my collection, from Mozart to Mustaine, I ams eclectic as I can be. I was chirpin along to some classic on the system at the gym when from behind me a youngster says; 'was this ever cool'? I told him that yes, at one time it was very cool, but it is even cooler today, because it has stood the test of time. For myself, the importance of yesterday is as critical as staying in the here and now. I no longer have to slam the door on my past. It happened, I am good with it, I embrace it for giving me today and forming me like refined gold. I thank AA for giving me another chance today, and that sobriety has stood the test of time for me and refined me through the 12 Steps.

| I'm just stepping back from the edge, myself, so I recognize a signal flare when I see one. What's going on, Stick?

On the plus side is i dont have to deal on my own, today i have a truly love bunch of friends that have seen me through dark times in the past.
