Simple, Not Easy. You Can Make It.

Lately, I have done a lot of inventory on me. A lot of soul searching and a lot of just plain studying the Big Book and other spiritual writings. What has stood out head and shoulders above the rest, is a paper that I wrote for my MS in college about Job.
Job is the posterchild for "Bad things happen to good people". Most folk who read the book correctly interpret the theme as the above. It ranged deeper though. Why do bad things happen to good folks?

Why not?

Bill W. made it real clear that, "obviously we cannot transmit something we do not have." But even more poignant is the fact that everything that happens to us is for a greater purpose that sometimes, we just can't grasp. In the scheme of things, as we surrender completely to Him and this simple program, we find that the promises wash over us again and again like waves against the rocks. We are blessed beyond comprehension and ironically wonder what we have done to deserve such grace.

Simple, we weathered the storm-we made it, sober.

It'a all about surrendering to we instead of I, ain't it Bro...?
We either stay sober together, or die separately...

BTW, I love you just as much as our Sister Kym, I'm even gettin' misty eyed typin' this...and that is a gift in itself...

THe blessings wash over us like waves breaking on the rocks. You all are part of that blessing in my life. I would have died had it not been for this program and the people in it; that darn well includes you. Don't take it lightly, I would have died, I took 504 pills from 4-1-08 to 4-21-08. I don't think it is any miracle I lived...a blessing, yes. Your friendship is sweetest honey.

I'm alive.
