| Could use some good mojo for better weather
4th consecutive day for a tornado watch. There was a young couple killed just 17 miles west of us Friday night. They pulled over in torrential rain just as a tornado went through, and it threw the vehicle into a field. Rescue workers didn't even see the vehicle; a farmer called the next day. He was 33 I think, she was 29, just married a year and on their way to see family in Coldwater Kansas. Last night we had a rotating storm cell just 13 miles north. It's really starting to pop in OK already and headed this way. If it doesn't start drying out soon, I'm going to have water seeping into the basement through the old brick foundation, and despite my pleas, the landlord has never put a sump pump in it

We are praying here in Missouri too. It's been a strange year.

It's going down to the freezing mark here tonight. They got snow last night about 800 miles north...The good news is that the sun is supposed to come out in the morning, so if we do get snow, the high temperature of the day (50degrees), should melt it off quick...LOL

Harsh weather all around. Here we have bad storms and record heat.

As I watch the weather each night, I see the red and green boxes in different areas. Knowing general areas where each of you live, you have my prayers in that moment. A cross country ride on bikes is something I would like to do with my son one day. Living in an area where we don't get funnels, I would have no idea what to do if I ever see one. I know that I would build a solid cement wall house if I lived in such an area. Yes...as I watch the weather, you are each in my prayers.

In the Spring of 91 I was lying in bed in my trailer house down in S Oklahoma. I remember crashing into the closet, then standing up in the middle of a pasture with a huge headache and a crushed face. To make a long story short, I now know Angles are as real as God. I have become an armature meteorologist since, and it's taken many years to get over my fear of storms. I would hit the bottle every time I saw a cloud. Back then a shrink told me " The only way I can help you, is if you quit drinking". I had no Idea she was right at the time. I am so grateful today for the gift of sobriety; who would have thought that all I needed was God to help me relax in T storms, and some of the storms of everyday life. |

Yesterday it was sunny and pretty and 81 degrees. Today it's raining and 50 degrees. We have a saying here: "If you don't like the weather here in Kentucky, just wait a minute." Meaning: The weather here changes so much you never really know what to expect sometimes!!! I, like Best, send up a prayer when I watch the weather and know that it's bad over the general area where each of you live. Hugs, Kym

Turns out a tornado had touched down two doors from where I was seated, picked up a farm-hand's mobile home, and dropped it on its roof on the other side of the fence. The home was destroyed, the family's possessions were scattered everywhere, and I never heard a thing. ![]() Thankfully, the residents weren't home at the time. Care to guess where they were? It was Sunday morning, and they were at church!
