Awful Quiet....

Is it just me, or has everyone kinda slipped into the quiet zone....? I'm suffering through my 3rd cold, but I managed to get Annie out for a ride to our Annual Algoma District A.A. Roundup on Saturday. I chaired the men's panel at 1:15, but had to split right after, to go home and nurse this darn cold. ( Snivel ) LOL. Any hoo, how's everbody else doin....? Has anybody heard hide nor hair from Guzzi....?

I've just been lurking. Worried about Jimmy, of course. Guzzi has been on my mind for some time now. I haven't heard from him since RFL '07. I sure hope his okay. Did anyone get his snail mail or phone number? I'm kind of in a funk but working my way through it.
Love ya Rar!!!!!!!!!!

Been reading and reflecting. More inner thoughts of feeling grateful then I have had outward thoughts that I feel a need to share.

Prayers for Jimmy and been thinking about where is Guzzi also.
Reflecting on friendships gained and if I will be able to make it to RFL 08.

Posts such as... Ok George now think of where you would want to be...
and how 6 months later will show you your best dreams fall short.
Such posts get a person thinking and reflecting with a gratefulness.

Struggling for me, today is my 41'st bio birthday, sure wish I could get a "real birthday". I just have to get it into my head.

Thumbs up I'm cool...

Nuttin much here either...Payed the ransom for my truck, (bought it back from my son). Dealing with new allergies (sniff-sniff, sneeze-sneeze). Working, riding and on occasion, racing. Working just the one job now and like Kym, lurking around the edges reading and reflecting. Grateful for the life I've been blessed with. Staying in today so I don't screw up tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Fulldresser4
If you had a 10 year "real birthday", you would be 51.
Enjoy a sober Birthday Today

Hey............I've been posting most every day. Maybe it me running people off. ...
.........................There is a perfect example of alcoholic thinking. Thinking it's all about me.

Rode 200 miles today on another Patriot Guard mission. Left at 7am and rode through the Ozark hills down highway 76 to Forsyth Mo., the town just before Branson. Beautiful ride, the air was cool, sky was blue, very little traffic. Spent the day with like minded riding vets. Went to a VFW Post, ate and drank a soda. Never once wanted a sip of booze. The program of AA has changed my life. I have a "new pair of glasses."

Seems to me that some of the posts lately, not all, have been off the subject of recovery, which in my opinion (what ever that is worth), the forum gets deluted, thinned out of real recovery stuff. I always try and bring what I post into view of my recovery. I ain't perfect though, I know that I have posted stuff that had nothing to do with my recovery.........Then there was the little bit of bickering that went on, that will run posters off, all except those who enjoy that kind of hassel.

You want to find Guzzi??.........get a hold of his MC in Ohio. they know where he is.

I think some of the post that haven't been on recovery have been turned into recovery. But since you bring it up.. I do understand that you don't have to ride to post, and I don't have to read anything I don't want to read, but I do enjoy more post on bikes and recovery, and that's what this board is.
Now for the big debate.

Now that I think about it, the Board name is Bikers in Recovery, so I suppose that's all it's about.

I am here, reading mostly. I'm hitting 1-3 meetings a day, meditating, reading the BB, doing the outpatient thing...I am just interested in doing the next right thing.

Peace

I have been lurking as well but am always interested and keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
For me this has been a difficult year as still dealing with on a daily basis physical symptoms of quitting cold turkey all of my medications last December.
I am however grateful that going to meetings and riding my bike to them continue to give me the power to face each day.

Take care,

jen

Toad

I see it all as part of recovery.
What kind of tires are better. How to clean chrome. How to fight off the thoughts that bring us poor choices... all of it is part of recovery.

Better tires... I ride feeling safer so less stress, more energy to put towards other things.
Clean looking bike (once a year)... well it does a heart good when things shine.
and talk of such things gets in the way of poor thoughts so they may enter less.

Even a good debate can give us tools for another day (such as your meeting the other day)

Just as long as the needs of the moment get handled...it all is good.

Now Jimmy

How are you doing my brother?

Good to read that.
Prayers are with you but you already know that.

You know how to ride that horse. Hold on to the saddle (the Lord) and you will do ok.
