Becky likes to bring alot of stuff with us on the road. Ive got stageI , race tuner and V&H oval slip-ons on the Ultra. Im thinkin about going from 96 to 103. it will only set me back about 1500, is it worth it, or should I wait and do the 110 when it needs to be rebuilt? Ive put 14,300 miles on in 11 months.

Probably won't need to be rebuilt for 60 or 70 thousand more..........maybe even 100. That could be a few years down the road...........Bill's got the answer. I think I be heading your way around the 21st........be with that newcomer (court date) I'll be on my scooter and will head south from there. We will spend the night and catch a meeting. Hope to see you Chris. toad...........fully clothed and in my right mind.

Chris, Unless you and Becky are planning on running from the cops a lot, a bigger motor is just wasted money, IMHO. It's strength and reliability you need, and big-inch motors are notoriously short in those departments. Just sayin'...

I'm with Bill on this one. Here is what I do whenever I feel like I need "more power". I take my old lady's 750 for a little spin. Then when I get back on my bike, I'm very happy!! As far as the stroker goes.... The biggest bang for the buck is in the cams, but if you are going that far.... why stop? I'm planning on going to the 103 when it's rebuild time, but that will be a couple more years.

I'm out of my league here. My ex builds fat backs for Vmax's. Neat-O bike. I'll have to load up the picture of the mods he did. Proud of him. CRAPPY BOYFRIEND...but great biker. In the end...we have a kid together...and fighting about the stooopid stuff doesn't matter. Still has a seXXXy bike...even if I paid fer half of it.....bazztard.

I have the full package 88 -> 96 cams, ignite, jugs, HTCC Heads, tuned exh. It is ALL I can handle. 103 is a great sufficiency. But listen to Jesse, it won't last long, cuz yer pushin the extra ponies through the same machinery-dig?

Now the bike came with the pipe and carb upgrade already done so my investment was the gear driven cam mod (Andrews; 510). At the dealership, it was just some change over $1300.00. I was after torque because of my geographic. In a 1/8 mile, I'll surprise ya. In a 1/4, I'm respectable. Wide open, I still can't bury the speedo (probably a good thing). The point is, I don't need to go on a diet for the bikes sake and my fuel mileage is actually better 2-up, w/bags extended, (more sedate riding, too). Now, if I can just manage to obey posted speed limit laws... Kinda like having 220 power to run ur electricity. Cost a lil more to install but less to operate under load compared to 110 under the same load. When ya need more than 110, it's available.

I think Im just gonna ride it for now, weather is too nice to even think about shop downtime except for maintenance. For my next set of questions we need another thread.
