| RFL '08 Accomodations Group Conscious Needed
Hi guys/gals! I've been doing some figurin' for our accomodations at Iron Horse for the RFL '08. I'm thinking that the Lone Star Cabin would be our best bet. It's a 2 bdroom/3bath full cabin. It has a fridge/stove/bbq/ect. It will sleep 6 people. I am thinking that this will give us a central location and will allow us to have a nice place to gather and eliminate the need to bring so many things like coolers, etc. The linens are provided so that helps with towels, blankets and that kind of thing. Since people will be coming and going I think it will accomodate all of us. If the need arises, we can always pitch a tent or throw a sleeping bag on the floor. The weekly rental is $1200 and divided by 6 is around $30 per night, just for the cabin. Of course we'll need food so we'll have to account for that as well and come up with a figure per person and based on an approximate number of those attending the event! This link Picasa Web Albums - Ironhorsenc - Lone Star Cabin hopefull, will take you to the site where you can view pictures of the cabin. The bedrooms have twin beds and the sofa makes a bed as well. Right now, however, we need to vote on whether or not the cabin idea is acceptable. Keep in mind that BillJ may be off the board for a bit while he gets himself lined out (keep praying for him and Jackie) so we'll hold the vote open for a bit. Let the yeas and nays roll!!!! Thank you for letting me be of service! Hugs, Kym

Is there any limit to the number of people that can stay in the cabin.....if it sleeps 6, could six more sleep on the floor? That is my question. Reserving the cabin would be a priority, I can commit to 1/6 of the rent. I will probably bring one or two people with me.

I'm sure that would be fine. I think there is a $15 per person per night charge if we go over 6 people. We can always figure out those details later as I'm sure we'll have more or less show up!! I think our priority is getting a definite yes or no and then making the reservation ASAP so we are sure to have a place! So that makes it 2 FOR the cabin rental? Hugs!!! Kym

I still don't have a definite answer from my boss when the shutdown will be, but if all my hurdles get jumped and my US waiver gets approved in time, my vote is yay to the cabin....

He did tell us my condition's not life-threatening, so (inconvenience and pain aside) it won't hurt to wait 'til next week, if we must. Still, Jackie would feel a whole lot better if we were moving on this, instead of sitting around in limbo. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. All that aside: I think the cabin is the way to go. I might arrange seperate accomodations for those nights Jackie's there, if she's able to attend at all, just so we can do our snuggling and cooing without an audience. Elsewise, I can probably stand bunking down with y'all. :rof However, please note all loud snorers and foul-gas passers will be persecuted! Survivors will be shot!

| That's 7 yes votes!
So far everyone seems to agree with the cabin although some of us may need other accomodations for snuggling and cooing!!! and others will bring a tent but still willing to pitch in and help pay. I haven't heard from Best yet, so we'll wait on him to put in his 2 cents and see if anyone else has an opinion!! The owners of the lodge come back to the office in April and I'd love to be able to book the cabin ASAP before it gets snagged. I can be a little OCD when it comes to planning, so be easy with me you all!! I'm working on that character defect! Love and Hugs, Kym

For instance, my anger may result in assault, or self-destructive behavior, but it can also motivate me to work for justice and peace. Same with OCD. I can use that to drive myself and those around me crazy, or to better organize something beneficial like RFL. Just sayin'...
