Turns out...

I've been having a great deal of pain in my right leg (the one with the rod and screws) the past few weeks. Wrote it off to weather changes, until it got so bad I couldn't walk. Monday afternoon my ankle swelled up and turned angry red.

After a trip to the ER, to my podiatrist, to Radiology to be sure it wasn't a blood clot, and to Nuclear Medicine, we now know the titanium rod in my leg (from knee to ankle) is infected.

Apparently, what is customary in this situation is hospitalization, IV antibiotics, and surgical removal of the hardware. Yikes!

I'm posting this now because everything may jump off in the morning, and if it does I won't have time to post here before we rush to the hospital.

This is more bad news on top of the failed neuro-stim in January, and hits Jackie at a particularly bad time (she had a show in Dallas this weekend, and has chosen to blow it off to be here for me) so I'm gonna ask, again, that everyone keep Jackie and I in your prayers. God willing, I'll be back soon with good knews.

BTW, ILYATNADTYCDAI!!!

Still hangin' fire. Now there's a question of whether the rod is actually infected, or just loose, but in either case it needs to be removed. Now we're just waiting to find out how and when.

Jackie's climnbing the walls, and I'm not far behind her!
