Should I patch up?

I have been ridin' alittle over 20 years and was a hang around with several outlaw clubs. I have been asked to prospect several times with these clubs. I never did for fear of winding up in prison or other "bad" reasons. I have alot of freinds who are in the CMA and are like brothers to me and one in particular wants me to patch up. Deep down in my heart I don't want the world to see me as a Christian biker. I don't know why. I never really wanted to wear a patch on my back. I spread the word of the gospel to freinds and everyone knows I am a christian. What do you guys think? Should I?

Yanno, I don't think any of us would feel right telling you what to do. I am a patch holder for a sober club (m/c). It works for me and came at a time when the club and I needed each other. I am now a national officer and don't see me retiring any time soon. It's not what I do, it's who I am.

Follow your heart...pay attention along that path...trust God. Not just any god, the One that you know and knows you.

There are a couple of other patch holders in here as well. Each flying colors for their own reasons. If you choose this path, it is your choice, not ours to choose for you.

(now here's the pitch) my clubs website is... Sober Riders MC We have chapters in WA.

I have looked into many MMs and have yet patched up.
For my own convictions, I tend to find that one thing in each group that has me say...maybe not.
Of all that I have looked into (maybe 15 different ones) I have not found a bad one that would have me say never would I join. As you can see if you look at my avatar... that is a picture of the back of my bike. Patch or not, my bike says where my heart is. I find what is more important for me... that my actions say where my heart is. More so because I advertise with the sissybar.

Look ...he is a Christian... and my actions say yuk
or
Look he is a Christian...and my actions say...he is living it.

CMA, Bikers for Christ, Sons of Abraham, ...The list goes on.
Each group does a wonderful job of bringing people together and sharing the Good News.
I would say ... do a google, read their website, go to a few meetings, pray about it... and join up as your heart guides you...or not join up and remain a free lance.

HR,
Best hit the nail right on the head. PRAY about it. Ask, keep asking.
My sponsor tells me "When you don't know what to do, don't do anything."
Meaning not to make any rash choices. Best hit it on the head, throw it up in prayer. If you don't feel led to go that way, don't.

I have the CMA patch on the back of my vest. For me, it works. I also have my AA stuff on it as well. I mostly share with people as they come up to me and ask questions. I'm not the type to walk up to someone and start sharing my faith. I am a spiritual person more than a religious person b/c I don't know that much about "religion", ya know? I can't quote you scripture or tell you the difference between methodist or baptist, etc. I can share with others how the God I know has saved my life. The people that I ride with are pretty cool and we do a lot of good things that often times don't involve riding at all. My favorite thing we do is the first of January we take blankets, hats, gloves and bibles to the Hope Center for men. It's a place for men to stay who are in recovery and homeless. (I think most of the folks in CMA think it's more of a homeless shelter even though the 12 steps and 12 traditions are posted on the wall.....) Anyway, I pass out things and they can see my AA stuff on my vest and they'll ask questions and I'll chat with them about my recovery. It's a great experience for me.

For me, I don't mind wearing the back patch but it doesn't define who I am. I'm a Christian, I believe in the God that our Bible speaks of and I'm also an alcoholic and an addict who has found a better way of life through AA and through my spiritual connection with God which I found again once I came into the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous.

In short, the decision to wear a back patch or not is very individual and no one can make that decision for you. Pray, listen to others share their ESH, do research and most importantly, listen to what your HP tells you!!!

I could go on and on about this topic, but I'll stop here!! Thanks for letting me share!

Hugs,
Kym

ummm Kym

You just quoted scripture *LOL*

There are some who can quote chapter and verse but if they have no love..it is nothing.
Then there are some who quote scripture by their actions of love.

You know scripture and quote it well. Your life shines.
