| Thank God For AA...
I opened my eyes this morning as a 55 year old. Didn't have a headache, rolling guts, or inflamed sphincter. There were no bars on my windows, or bracelets on my wrists. I was able to drink a coffee, then eat a good breakfast, then was able to brush my teeth. The phone rang a few times this morning to wish me a happy birthday. My step daughters called and want to come over and cook me supper. My son called also, even though he was out on a drunk last night. It is my home group tonight and I am chairing. We are celebrating a newcomer's one year AA anniversary and my sponsor is speaking. My son says he is coming to the meeting cause he is tired of being a drunk. The sun is shining brightly, even though it is only 40 degrees f. There is a slight skiff of snow on the ground and when my wife gets home from church, we are taking our little dog out to Hiawatha Park to hike the cross-country ski trails. All is well in my corner of God's world. I finally surrendered to the inevitable and will lay up "Annie" in the garage when I get back from our hike. AA has led me from a life of pitifull, incomprehensible demoralization, to a life of wonder and gratitude. I humbly thank each and every one of you for helping me on my Journey. Thank God for AA....

Happy Belly-button Birthday Rarly, You are young and blessed indeed. AA is truly a God inspired fellowship. I owe my life the program, and to those who kept the doors open while I was still out there. We must also keep the doors open and follow the 12 Traditions to ensure that it will be there for our great-great-grandchildren, if they need it. I also will attend a meeting this evening to celebrate a friends 4th year. P.S....... Whats is an "inflamed sphincter?" Have anything to do with good Tex-Mex food?

Boy, I'm so glad I'm not one o' those wore-out, over-the-hill, grey-bearded, butt-draggin' ol' farts! Oh, wait... I am one o' them! Dang! :andy: Happy birthday, greybeard!

Kym: You get my vote for being the cutest. I don't meet too many people that have the radiance that you do. My wife Bonnie has that radiance and I consider myself to be a lucky man. Your hubbie is a lucky man too, in my humble estimation....
