That sounds like fun Jimmy but I think I like the idea of another Indiana trip better. I really enjoy just sitting around in the calm and quiet of the campground and sharing and maybe taking a ride or two. But please don't let my opinion stop a trip to Wolf's Head!!!!! I'm just giving some feedback that you asked for!

Distances, schedules, opportunities...

In fear of being appointed because I thought it out, I wasn't going to reply but I will.
I can always say no if people try to appoint me. *LOL*

A thought I had while driving home... rather then a weekend...schedule a whole week with a weekend at either end. People could come and go as schedules allowed. A person or two could be listed as site manager and stay for the whole week while others come and go as they are able. Even had thoughts of turning my own yard into a campground but the distances for many may be a drawback. We have time to think things out. As short as the time was to think out this year...It worked out great.
Good work Hammer. I don't think you could have picked a nicer place.
In talking with the people at the site beside us, if a call to the campground was made a week later...we wouldn't have been able to use that campground. They were full a week later. Yup, God sure was with us.

That sounds like a great idea Best; of course the selfish side of me wants to see EVERYONE even though I couldn't be there all week!! I so enjoyed the time I spent with you all this year that's for sure and would love to make it an annual thing allowing more people to join in!! So, if we could do a group conscious and decide on a venue (of course without commitment), we could go from there!

So far:
Wolf's Head Rally in Minnesota: 1
Any State Park in Indiana: 1

Any other ideas?

I had 9-10 days in mind too.

also I thought I may volunteer to take the servant position by th horns and maybe create a specialized website for the runs each year, I could mange that as well. I get 10 MBs of space with my internet account. The site would contain run location group conscience and polls. News, plans for future RFLs, ya know-the works.

In addition to 10 days, I think keeping the runs diverse would be the most fair way and add the most variety to our experiences-but like Kym, that's my opinion, and like belly buttons and bungholes-well, you know the rest. Consider this my official self nomination for the run director-servant position.

Much love and Blessings to yall

As much as I hate to say this word I will *LOL*

A committee position of 3 may be a good idea. Each person could do a part of things and it also has a director with 2 back ups...stuff happens sometimes.
Kym's shopping list gave me many ideas I never would have thought of is a good example of how a committee can work. Maybe the better word would be a team effort...don't like committees *LOL*

Wolfs head

Passports - Next year, in 2008 the U.S. government will require every U.S. citizen to have a valid passport to re-enter the country.

$150 and about 4 months wait.

A good idea to get one if planning any travel outside the US in the near future. Last minute it costs more and may not be ready in time for a trip.

No Passport needed Best, we ride from Pigeon River, MN to Onacata, MN.

I really love the committee idea as well.

Minnesota?!?! What did I ever do to you people that you want to inflict Minnesota on me? What's the matter? Indiana wasn't far enough away? :andy:

What about Rt. 66 through the south Bill? I have heard it was a banner ride, any truth to that?

Ya know, that was a darn good campsite. I don't mind the two day ride to get there, gets me all settled in the noggin' before I arrive and God knows I need that....LOL. Same place is good for me, but what say we back it up a weekend, so Kym can stay the whole weekend. If we're gonna do that, we'd better book soon, our neighbours were bummed that we got the best sites, remember....?

I was thinking if a site is located that has cabins and tent sites and we book for a whole week(2 weekends) Maybe in KY or Kansas.
The place we stayed was great but if the weather wasn't so wonderful, it could have been different. We still would of had a great time but options would have been less.
A cabin with a solid roof would be a good idea. It would make for a central location if we hit poor weather at all. Tents are ok till you pile 8 people that are wet into one and try to stay dry and comfortable. *LOL*

I'm all up for Kentucky!!!!! Not only because I live there, but because we have so many beautiful roads to ride and explore!! We have some really nice camping grounds with cabins. There's also Tennessee and the Great Smokey Mountains! I think it works best keeping it in central US so that it's fair for those on either coast. Just my humble opinion!!! Like Hammer said, opinions are like bellybuttons and something else!! LOL!!!

How about if we try and get the same three camp sites? Possibly for 4 days, Thur-Sun. If it happens to rain, we could have some alternatives plans like car-pool into Louisville, go to dinner, meeting, and movie, musem, etc..

Next time I plan on bringing all the comforts......tent, air bed, ........just like nam.

I am also up for finding a place in the Smoky Mountains of eastern Kentucky....

We could meet here in Missouri and ride these hills.

I would not even mind if we did it a week earlier.

This spring there is a great AA convention in Eureka Springs Arkansas. It is called springtime in the Ozarks. This year there were around 2,200 AA's in attendance. Several hundred bikers. Those North West Arkansas mountains are mighty fine for riding experiences........Bever lake is right there too.

How about us all meeting in Akron for Founders Day? Possibly we could ask Guzzi if his Group could set aside three or four rooms for us in the hotel where they stay. I plan on riding to Founders Day anyway.

Now I have expressed all my current ideas into our group conscience forum....I am listening for God to speak.............toad

Ya, know, I seem to be feelin a tren toward Versailles as a central spot-is that accurate? I love that idea! We could travel from Versailles to nearly all the places the toadmeister talked about too. And what about about shelterin out our tents and stuff with tarps for bad weather? Group conscience is talkin Versailles, same three spots, I second the motion!

It went well. Doesn't appear to be cancer, so that's a great thing!! I'm hurtin' like crazy right now and will probably go home in the next little bit! Thanks for everything!
