| Cool Stuff In Sobriety
My step-daughter Sherri puts on an annual Triathlon here on St. Joseph's Island in Richard's Landing. The 4th annual was last weekend. Again this year, I rounded up some sober bikers and we performed motorcycle escort service for the athletes in the bicycle portion of the "swim, bike, run". The best part of the day is in the afternoon, when we escort the kids. What a blast...! A.A. is such a blessing in my life and here is one of the many miracles that God has manifested in my life, since joining A.A. I would love to see some cool stuff from my SR Family posted here also...

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing, Rarly. One of my many hobbies is amateur astronomy, I enjoy doing public outreach, especially with children. The look on a childs face when they see the rings of Saturn or sunspots through a telescope is priceless. Other than that, there is no greater honor to me than to be of service to my Fellows and AA.

Man Rar, you just made my day! What an awesome thing and those kids....too much! I just helped with an open house for the cub scouts in our area. I have so much fun with those boys and their siblings...we dance and sing and learn about respect for our fellows, our country, our military, our earth, and last, but NEVER least, our heavenly father....what a blessing AA has been for me to allow me to be sober and participate in the lives of children and to be a positive role model, not only for them but for my son!

| Farmer's Advice
This is really good... ADVICE FROM AN OLD FARMER Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong. Keep skunks and bankers and lawyers at a distance. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor. Words that soak into your ears are whispered...not yelled. Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight. Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads. Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you. It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge. You cannot unsay a cruel word. Every path has a few puddles. When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty. The best sermons are lived, not preached. Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t ever gonna happen anyway. Don’t judge folks by their relatives. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. Live a good, honourable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time. Don't interfere with somethin' that ain't botherin’ you none. Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance. If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’. Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got. The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'. Always drink upstream from the herd. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in. If you get to thinkin’ you're a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else's dog around. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God…..
