I think I finally realised what the true meaning of the third step means. It took a hell of a lot for me to go to my church(laid back, harley shirts and jeans are the dress code) and finally ask God that if my ol man had suffered enough, to take him and to just give me the strength to handle it. I guess he was listening cause 2 wks later, he was gone. So many people here sent out prayers for him and I think between his faith and the fact that he knew I was gonna be Ok gave him the power to let go. He had been a parapalegic for almost 7 yrs and passed 2 days b4 our 8th anniversary. I was his full time caretaker but never considered it a burden. My 16 yo son put it quite well, he said I never saw a man in a wheelchair, I saw the man in the wheelchair. Now I'm starting to think of doing things I couldnt for so many years, like ride! Been looking at scoots, sure like the Heritage softail. Guess I should learn to ride first. Been riding (queen) for 30 yrs but need some lessons or something come spring so I can be safe out there. Just wanted to thank everyone for all the support. Talk to u soon..........Kerri |

Good seeing you found the post new thread button *LOL* Your husband is blessed having you by his side like that through all of that time. As for riding... I rode before but after taking the safety course, I realized I didn't fully know the right way to ride. MSF has a riding course in just about every state. I highly recomend it for everyone...even long time riders. http://www.msf-usa.org/index_new.cfm...rCourse%20Info

Sorry for your loss, but it's great to see you looking at the positive side! I agree with Best...the MSF course is the way to go. That's how I did it and I'm so glad I spent the money and took the time! Blessings to you!! Kym

As for riding your own bike: welcome to the front seat! The view's great from here! I, too, recommend an MSF course. The Basic is good for folks just starting out, and the Advanced is a helpful refresher. The insurance discounts are sweet, too!

Kerri When I took the safety course, there were 6 girls and 8 guys in the course. I won't say who did better..guys vs girls (still in denial on this*LOL*) but I will say...you have nothing to worry about by taking the course.
