I have been drinking on and off since I was 16. I even went through a period of about 3 years of doing cocaine. I take Paxil for anxiety. I am finally at a good place in life with a wonderful husband, beautiful home, and a good job. I just have this one little problem, I drink and I don't want to any more. I tell myself that this is the last time but then I stop by the store on the way home and buy a bottle of wine for dinner. Then I tell myself, "I'll have just one glass." Then drink the entire bottle. Now I have once again done something to hurt myself, missed my workout and let myself and my husband down. How do I stop this insanity?

Stop at an AA meeting on your way home from work; that should help you get the liquor store out of your route. Or give yourself a one night trial of no wine and then see how you feel (you will definitely feel better) and get through the next night in the same way. You are an alcoholic and would best be serveed by going to AA

Hello Angelhart, Most of us here know your dilemma, been there. Tonight make your agenda to come home and post on this web site before dinner, and post after. Let us know how your day went. There is help here if you want to stop the insanity.
