| NA and atheism?
Hi, I am here in search for info to pass on to a friend. He's looking to quit his drug habit and is really wanting help but is concerned that NA is very religion based and he is an athiest. He thinks the program sounds great and would be very helpful but he's worried that religion would be pushed down his throat or he would be frowned upon or judged for his beliefs. Any information on how NA deals with atheists? Thanks!! Justhelping |

Recovery in 12 step programs is 'spiritual' - but each member decides what that means for him or herself. Tell your friend to give NA a chance - and to be upfront about his resistance. Believe me, he won't be the first athiest to be helped by 'the rooms.' best, Guy |
