Most Common Screener Used For Alcoholism Dependance/Abuse - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

It is a random question, but I figured I'd throw it out there.....

Do you know what the most common screeners used for alcohol dependance/abuse (alcoholism) would be? I'd like to use a screener that is normed for 18+ and contains a relatively clinically acceptable definition for alcoholism.

I have seen:

SMST (Self-Administered Alcoholism Screening)
ADS (Alcohol Dependance Scale)
MAST (Mich. Alcohol Screening Test)
AUI (Alcohol Use Inventory)
AUDIT (Not sure if this is an acronym)
CAGE (Cut Down, Annoyed, Guilty, Early Morning)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link!

I was able to track down a specialist this afternoon and she helped me out. For those who are interested, she said the AUDIT is by far and away the best assessment tool out there. The psychometric numbers are excellent and scoring and interpretation is a snap. That makes my life much easier now.
