| Ativan question
I was on percocets 16-20 (i was over using)5/325 a day for 4 years, and 40mg methadone for the last 11 months ,so I was takin both. I went to rehab 1/29/05 and was put on a step down suboxone program.I was on that for 3 weeks. After the sub. I had severe anxiety.11 days after being off the sub,I had a severe anxiety attack, stopped breathing and was rushed to the hospital,I wasn't sleeping and having severe anxiety, maybe because of the methadone I wasnn't on the sub long enough.I was put on Ativan 3/1/05 and take 2 mg every 6 hrs.I was just starting to cut down on my own and I found out my baby (11 years old) had to have surgery on a brain tumor. She's doing better now, she's at home but my anxiety is still sky high,I'm so afraid that being on the Ativan so long I'm going to go through this whole w/d all over again, but I'm a mess right now and the anxiety is strong,I'm not sure what to do.Any help would really help!! Thanks !! Have a GREAT day & take care!!

I pray for your baby's speedy recovery & you have every reason to be overwhelmed with anxiety. I don't think ativan can create a similar awful withdrawal as methadone but I believe when you're feeling better you should work with an MD to find a good way to withdraw yourself slowly. Sounds like you need something for anxiety to get from day to day & again that's understandable & Ativan is the least harmful of any of the anti anxiety agents, I believe. But do work with a real life Doctor ....I'm not an M.D. & to really get clear answers you need an M.D. who sees you & takes appropriate vital signs etc. But I think your path is correct for now.

Dear Mark, Thank you so very much for the prayers,She has had so many of them and they are working strong. She's doing better each day,she even went out to dinner yesterday.I thank GOD every day for the miracle He gave her!! And thanks so much for the words of advice,I feel a little less guilty about taking the ativan,I go see a psychologist this week, knowing that makes me feel so much better, and I keep in close contact with my regular DR,I just saw her Friday! Well that's about it for now,I'll keep ya updated on progress here, and again thank you soooo much, you made me feel tons better!! Have a Happy Easter, take care!!
