23 male, needs help

hello everybody,

I am new here, as you can see I have just recently registered. I need some form of help or advice regarding my drinking habit, I have always drink with friends during the week-ends at bars/clubs etc but lately for the past 2-3 months i've been drinking a small glass filled with 50% Vodka nd 50% Orange EVERYNIGHT. I have relationship/financial problems so I use this couple of hours to think things through and make plans for the week ahead. Its a fantastic feeling to just sit and think and get slightly drunk but not DRUNK. As a man of 23 is this a sign of a future alcoholic? what's worried me even more was today my "waste" had blood on it and I seemed to be having some minor pains on my stomach. I am extremely baffled and rather worried......if somebody could advice me on this matter I would be most grateful. Thank you

THIS IS NOT FROM A GLASS A NIGHT!!! GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!! What is happening is you are thinking about being an aloholic and you are taking every little thing that happens to you and trying to put 2 and 2 togeather and you are making your own dignois and this part should be done by a doctor... And please take it from me I am 19 and since I was 9 I have been through every stage of addiction's from drinking to IV use(HEROIN/NEEDLE) and trust me if you can avoid being an ALCOHOLIC do! Addiction is not something you force upon yourself and from what Glenn and I read it seems to us that you are trying to be an ALCOHOLIC and we just know what we have to go through everyday and our addiciton's started with just ALCOHOL. Now we have to go to a clinic everyday and it takes uo 5 hours a day and it is not fun we can't even go away for a night nevermind going to get married because of the money it takes for us to get to the clinic! SO PLEASE TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD THERE LIFE ALMOST TAKEN FROM THEM. I sharebear almost died thats why I am in a clinic. If I could take it back when I was 9 I would have never picked up that drink or hit that joint! I went from that to putting a needle in my arm and came so close to death! When that happened I saw my whole life flash and I was so scared I had said oh my god just for a good feeling I am going to die!!! And believe me I know people who have died from ALCOHOL alone nothing else and if you like that feeling as much as your post says please try to get help before it is too late! You are to young to slowly kill your organ's or even to be takeing that chance of moving on to much harder things.. May not happen over night but trust me it happens everyday to people all over the world! And if my life long story can save someone it puts a smile on my face! So stay in touch with me let me know what decision you make and what the outcome is! You seem like you have a HUGE CHANCE OF NOT BEING AN ADDICT!! My e-mail is sharebear@juno.com
Also go to other boards and read what other people are going through if you even have a 1% chance of being an addict(ALCOHOL,POT,COKE,HEROIN,E,HASH,ACID) all count you should know what else comes with it besides the nice cozy feeling! Because trust me it is so much work involved with recovery and the longer you are an addict the less chance or the harder it will be to recover! One last thing YOUR WORST DAY SOBER IS BETTER THAN YOUR BEST DAY HIGH OR DRUNK! So I will be waiting for your reply!

Welcome leoscorp,

Please go see the doctor. He is the only one that can tell you what's happening. There are lots of minor reasons that you might be having this happen so try not to worry too much, but go get it checked. If you have black stools or vomiting or more pain head to the emergency room.

playing with fire

((((((((((leoscorp)))))))))))this is just my two cents....i would go to the dr. and get it checked out about your stool....but drinking every night can lead to being addicted. If you have to ask if you have a problem then you may have one.. stop playing with fire...thats my two cents of it. take care, dot

Hey there

No you are playing with matches fire comes after! There is always smoke before fire! When there is fire it is too late........(Glenn)
And you can e-mail him if you ever need someone to talk to! He will be here when ever you need someone to chat with! He has alot of wisdom about addiction's. All kinds Glenn has been through each phase and that was a long black road for him! He just got a certificate for 28 days clean! And his responce was wow it has been that long? Since we have been togeather both of ourlives have changed! When we got togeather on thanksgiving 2004 (close friends) I sharebear did not live a day sober or clean since I was 10 years old everyday it was something either drinking or pot then as I got older I was turned onto other drugs but Glenn has brought sun shine into my life! I have been clean for 29 days. No our soberity didn't come right away it came after I almost died a couple of times. The first time was from "E" and WOW I was SCARED!!! I thought that just because it took me .25 of a gram not cut HEROIN to get high in a shot. So I thought I would have to do 1 and 1/2 pill's of to get off. And I also thought that I had to shoot it and Glenn thought the same way and we both thought we were done! And so for me that was when I started to talk about stopping. But for Glenn he had seen stuff like that before so it didn't phase him that night or even that month. But it happened again with HEROIN to me and to this day I don't remeber this night but Glenn does and he says I was not even high and I thought I was bringing you to the hospitial. And the next day after this time it all hit him he almost lost me! And to Glenn I am not like his soon to be ex-wife I mean so much more to him then that! And it has nothing to do with age or sex for that matter because we are soul mates more then anything in this world! In your average relationship you spend ton's of time apart and that doesn't bother but with me and Glenn we haven't been apart for more then 2 days and that was because he went rehab. And he had been there before for 2 weeks and it didn't bother him but this time he couldn't wait to get home! He missed me so much he detoxed off of HEROIN and methadone at home with no help! And to this day he has been clean and he has a whole new outlook at life! So please remeber Glenn will always be here for you to talk to! Use your resources! I don't have many but there is people out there to help you! You are at the beginning of an addict's life and I think you should talk to people who have lost every thing due to an addiction! Drug's Alcohol it is all the same when it comes to an addiction! Oh yeah do you know how to check your private messages? Log into sober recovery and where it says
welcome,whatever
