Paxil withdrawel

I have been on paxil for about 10 years. In june I started to with drawel from it. I had some dizziness and a few other systems, but when I finally went off the drug I went into withdrawels immediatly. He put me on zoloftto which I could not think and lost my menory for several days. Afterthis he wanted to put me on prosasic. I said no so he put me on liquid paxil and I worked down to 1ml for a week before I quite. I started to go in a slow withdrawel, until I could not handle it any longer. I went back to 1ml of the paxil. He has left town on vaction and told me to go to one of my other dr.s No one would handle me saying there is no withdrawel from paxil. The emergency room told me to go to another psycologist. It is now the weekend and still on 1ml of paxil and am running out. I was afraid to try the prosasic after my reaction to zoloft. Any suggestions? By the way are there psycologist who review the questions? Thanks

sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Yes, to the psychologist question - that is, my colleague on this site, Mark Sichel is a very experienced therapist and you would probably benefit from posting this query in his forum. This is not a medical site, however, and you do need to talk (as I know you have been) to a doctor or doctors to get the best guidance. You haven't mentioned going to NA meetings at all: you might want to check them out. While clearly this is as much a biochemical challenge as an emotional one - for which, again, you should seek medical guidance - NA could really help you get some perspective on what you're going through. You'll probably get a lot of response from people who 'relate.' Try posting this query on the NA forum on this site, as well.
