I am confused by things. I called my sons Probation Officer to inform him of the fact that my son has done dope (heroin 2x) recently. The first time a result of an accident that landed him in the hospital where he did tell the doctor he was an addict and they gave him a heavy duty drug anyway (didn't speak english to well).

Since then another heroin night and he missed work. He is angry I called his probabation officer and my son is angry because I told him part of the boundaries to protect me.

The PO called me and is making him come in - of course enough time to clean up and pretend all is well cause he kept clean.

I love my son - how can I= i help him without helping him in his bad choices.

It is do hard to love and let go.

You did the right thing by reporting him to his PO....its your way of asking for help and hopefully that will be the end result.

Its too much for a parent to be responsible for their child who refuses to get hellp and stay clean. Anything you can do to not enable his habit would be helpful, which means that you need to find some Narcot Anon meetings.....for those who love drug addicts....and get support in whatever ways you can to help you continue to set appropriate, strong but loving, boundaries with your son.
