Associated question re: Is he alcoholic...

I did not realize that we had a professional here to actually ask so here it goes.. another person asked is he an alcoholic if he drinks like this???.... so here it is my AH is a "heavy drinker" here are the stats and I want the professional to tell me because I am told that I am wrong and stupid. That I do not know what I am talking about and if I am wrong then you can tell me no problem. My AH is a professional man owns and runs his own holistic medical practice (go figure) sorry .. so this is his pattern we have lite days and heavy days. He never misses work, never drinks before 4 on days off and never drinks during a work day until he is done. He works, pays the bills, gets all the necessaries taken care of around the house, does laundry, cleans and sometimes cooks, yet drinks. Never hung over, never vomits, never slurs unless it is over 15-20 drinks and always argues with me for the keys. ( This has since been fairly resolved I will not drive with him drinking) This week is like this Oct.21, drank 3 large pints of beer and 11/2 bottles of wine, very loud and embarrassing in public to me when he drinks like this, 22nd slowed 2 beers, 23rd nothing, 24 60 ounces of beer, 25 2 mugs of beer 1/2 bottle of wine, 26 beers 4, 27th 2 beers four whiskey sours, 28 4 beers some of the beers he is now drinking at 9% alc, 29th 2 beers 4 wine the 9%ers, and 30 and 31, the same. So basically this is the pattern and every so often we get the 15 to 20 beer days mixed with other shots so am I wrong? I know there is nothing I can do except for myself. I do have a counselor but he will not give me a definitive about him he focuses on me because he family counsels us sometimes. I can't speak with him regarding AA either because he says they are a mind control organization. Thanks .

Sounds to me like your AH is an alcoholic and if he won't go to AA you should go to Al Anon to get help supporting this man you love in the most healthy ways for him...and for you.
