Never Forget You Lucky Our Journey

Lucky I just want you to know that we have traveled a journey together that most people don't have an opportunity to do and yet all journeys must come to an end. Yet I know that this is really not the end for either of us that this is just one of those things that there is neither right or wrong. I love you so much my friend you have been with me since we started SR, the computer, even the NA Meeting "Where Dreams Come True Group" back home in Nebraska, you have been there with me through thick and thin.
And now that we must be apart for awhile, In all reality we are still together. I will never forget you my friend, you are the best. Keep care and I LOVE YOU

Awwww.....dang Vic. Now I'm crying. I'm sorry. I've had to put down several of my babies for various reasons. My heart broke when I read your story. Hang in there.

Vic, I'm sorry, I know how sad this is for you. I, too, had to put down a cat that was 20 years old and that I grew up with, and I remember the pain to this day. Let yourself shed some tears for Lucky, then just remember all the good memories that he brought you. It's a shame that pets don't get to stay with us forever, but a gift that they share our lives for a while and teach us so much.

RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

I have a dog that has survived cancer tumors 2 times now and she is 12 now, she has had puppies, been fixed and hit by a car and she is an awesome family dog. Last year when we found she has another tumor and she is having kidney problems, I have come to terms that she was just one blessed dog. The hardest part for me was helping my kids grieve the possible lose of Mandie. Here it is a year later and she has perked up on us despite the contrary, making the situation harder, because the dog keeps growing on us. 12 years with her, and she has been through alot that most dogs never would survive.
Besides my wife and kids have 4 cats, a ferrett, 2 gerbils and a fish tank full of fish, so it is like a zoo around here at times, especially when the kids get home from school.
Hang in there Vic, grieving is part of the process and everything will be ok.

Here I sit not knowing what to do
Now that I've lost someone special like you.
I can remember a lot of times that we have had
Some were good and yet some were so bad.
No matter how bad things seemed to be
You were always there to hold up me.
Not to many people treated me like you
Maybe this is why I am feeling so blue.
I find myself keep asking the question WHY?
Then I go searching for my answer in the sky.
I believe I'm listening to every sound
But maybe I can only hear my heart pound.
Please Lord keep Lucky in my heart
Now that we have to be apart.
But this seperation cannot and will not last
Because we have been promised in the past
That if we know the Lord on that day
We to will be on our way.
Rest in Peace Lucky, I LOVE YOU.

Vic,
I am so sorry to hear about Lucky. I know how hard it is to lose an animal you love so very much. If you need someone to just talk to I am here I will help in anyway that I can. Your story touched my heart and now I have tears in my eyes.

I just keep remembering all of the times that we have had since you came into this world Lucky, OMG we have been through so damn much it is unbelievable. I will never forget the times that you:

I need you so so so bad, and I know that you can feel the pain and the hurt that I am going through cause I am feeling yours.

vic... i am really sorry to hear about your dog... recently i had to put to sleep my baby and her pups because parvo spread through our town and my babies didn't have thier shots... i know how you feel on this issue.

I will never forget that you were the only pup to come out head first
I will never forget when you took a dump on my floor
I will never forget when you chewed up my brand new couch and I didn't even get mad at you
I will never forget how you would chase a light around the room
I will never forget how you would rub up against me like a cat
I will never forget how you liked you sqeekee toy
I will never forget how you would act so bad
I will never forget how you would do your loop and instead of hitting the cushions on the couch you would run across the back of the couch
I will never forget how much you did LOVE ME

Thanks Stormy and Angel I love you guys and you know what it is OK, I have been going through a healing process and it is just ok, I know that I did my best and I know that Lucky knows that too, God gave him to me and God wanted him home, he was just loaned to me, that is all.

I am coming to a peace over this and for that I am grateful that I have dealt with this clean and sober, I don't know about being serinity but I do know that I did the best that I could and am glad that I made it through this. I am also happy to know that atleast now Lucky won't have to suffer anymore, he won't have to wonder where he is going to live, or with who he will be given to next, I think that this was just meant to be, that hurts to say that but I feel that way right now.
