We lost 2 addicts in 2 weeks.

I found out today that another addict from this area passed from the horrors of active addiction.

Last week we lost a young guy (25 years old) to this disease. This morning some people went to check on a woman who they haven't been able to get in touch with. When she wouldn't answer the door they called 911. They found her in the house dead. She had 5 bags of dope on her, and the needle still in her hand. She fell face first off of the chair and smashed her face in.

I wasn't really friends with either of them. It has however affected one of my sponsees, her sponsee and a few friends that I am very close with. This is the first time they are dealing with this type of situation in recovery. They are all feeling very confused and angry.

I find it strange that HIS name was Bobby, and HER name was Bobbie.

I hate to say this, but usually things happen in threes. Let's hope not this time.

This disease really sucks.

I'm really sorry about your friends, and my prayers go out for them and for their families.

How tragic this disease is, for the addicts and those who love them. I don't think we ever get used to hearing news like this.

Extra prayers going out tonight for all the addicts who still suffer,

Hugs
Ann

I was talking tonite to the woman who Bobbie (female) worked for. She is the one who found her. She is a wreck. She has a lot of years clean, but as she said, It doesn't matter how many times we see this happen, it's is something that you can never 'just get used to'.

Prayers for all of those suffering.

You're a good friend, Laurie. Thanks for sharing that with us. So very sad, but a heartbreaking reminder to us addicts to stay clean. Prayers going out to the addicts still suffering. Thanks, Namommy!

(((( namommy )))))))

I lost one of my closest friends just last year to cocaine. She hadn't used much, if any, for a few years. She began seeing an old boyfriend of hers and a week (using/drinking) later was found dead in her apartment of a heart attack brought on by kidney failure!

((((((((michski)))))))) That sux.

Bobbie's funeral is tonite. I have to work. I'm not too upset about not going, like I said It isn't her that I was close too, it's all the people in my life that were close to her that I am feeling the ripple effect from.

For some reason, Bobbie's funeral was post-poned to tonite. It just stretches things out for another day. Yet another day for people to try to deal with the immediate hurt. I don't know how this sounds, but I always look forward to the funeral so I can get out my immediate grief and start moving forward to heal. That's just how it works for me.

I'm sure my sponsees will start calling soon.
