Day 2

Hello people,

Today is day 2 for me and I'm spending it with my girlfriend. I told her I was an addict today thinking that she would never understand and we'd brake up.
She gave me the surprise of my life.
Needless to say we are not breaking up.
I'd tell you more but I would have to ask her first...
Pretty crazy.
Miracles happen every day.
I'm alive.

I may be an addict but I'm not a junkie!

Although I should be taking it one day at a time I know the real test is making it a week. I haven't been able to do that for a while.
But I'll focus on today tommorrow.

Starting meetings Monday, do you think someone who's not an addict coming with me is a good idea?
She doesn't know why I asked her to come really, except support.

Soon my frienemies will call me and say "What's up?", any ideas on how to handle them. Some probably won't call unless I call them..that's fine with me. "Frienemies" ha.

I almost forgot to tell you that I don't have a good memory.

So this is what being "Thunderstruck" feels like. Maybe you out there understand, if you do I am happy for you.

Bye for now, time to sleep.

Wonder boy, that is AWESOME!! Your girlfriend sounds absolutely wonderful. I think it's a great idea to take her, if she wants to go with you. I took someone with me to my first 3 meetings, until I was comfortable going alone.

You are making some great choices these days. I applaud you.

Congratulations my friend.

wonderboy .... my "friends" used to call and ask me if I knew where they could score.. told them to grab a phone book, start at a and dial through z being careful to avoid dea, fbi, and such....

today on the rare occasion that someone asks me if I would like some, I tell them it intereres with my meditation... they think i said medication and generally don't bother to ask again, If they persist I just tell them they haven't got enough ... so far nobodies had a box car or freighter standing by cuz once I get started ......

congrats on day 2 and the real test is just not using for right now. the right nows will eventually add up to surprise us.

Hi WB,
one of my counselors in rehab said that when people ask his if he wants a drink he says, "no thanks, I'm allergic - I break out in handcuffs."

A suggestion that was given to us regarding former connections was to change your phone numbers. Pain in the butt, but maybe worth it. Hang in there
