You guys were right

Life is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD without pills.

I had forgotten.
I couldn't remember how it was before them.
I couldn't fathom being able to do simple things like folding laundry without some "little yellow friends"
I kept asking - are you happy?
Do you have energy?
Is it possible?
Am I ruined forever? How am I EVER going to be able to clean a closet without being high? I honestly forgot that it was possible.

GUESS WHAT?
You guys were right.
It is possible.
In fact
It isn't too bad.
I am a functioning sober person?
Wow.
I didn't know it could be done.

It has been 10 days and I'm living like a regular normal person. I just may be okay. Like I said before - when you have been where i was - 10 days is an eternity. I am grateful.

I can't wait to buy something at the mall with the money I used to blow on drugs. Man, I'm thinking new shoes!!!

Thanks, several of you guys really helped me. It is hard to believe that when you are merely abstract people from who knows where. But you told me it could be done. And, so I am doing it.

Very cool.

U know, I've been a few 24 hours now w/o any kind of substance to numb etc. any way I feel. I don't even like to do an aspirin unless my head is throbbing.

I spent so many years w/o feeling. I mean to tell you, there's a reason we were put on earth with feelings!! If, for no other reason then to feel love. I don't want to ever not feel again.

Stay as you are for today. Keep doing what you're doing today and everyday, there after.

You will see what I mean if, you do this

Erin,
Congrats on 10 days. Keep your eye on the prize--not the shoes, although those will be wonderful, I am sure, but on a lifetime of being clear headed and free from those things that bound us.
Keep on doing the steps, meetings, whatever it is that is working for you.
