I still don't know which way to vote. I've watched and listened to every campaign argument, but I'm just hopelessly confused. I want to be a part of Europe union, but I also want a democratic vote on what matters to the country. The idea of the EU was sound, but like all good ideas the higher principles get lost over time, and the people in powder just want to look after themselves.
On the basis of democracy I should vote out, but on the basis of building a United community I should vote in.
Just a day left to make my decision.

Why is it that the characters that get so far up in politics are the very characters that shouldn't be allowed to make big decisions?

I wish I'd studied politics, I'd love to know what on earth I'm talking about !

I was going to edit my post about "the people in powder/power" but do you know, I think I prefer to leave the powder - it's very Freudian, I like it.

Hope you slept well UP

I've been half asleep today for some reason. A few things are going on at work which are causing me a few worries. Nothing dreadful, but more responsibility, and with it more work. It looks like I'll be expected to bring work home with me after hours. It's not something I want to do in the long term. I'm happy to work hard and give 100% during the working day, but I don't want to work at weekends.

I'm keeping an eye out for a job change, I think it would do me good to try my hand at something else.

Hope everyone's week is going well.

Morning All,

getting better......

Freein: Job change sounds like it may be the final hurdle for you to clear before a sober nirvana.

I cant wait to be finished in this soul sucking, black and dark hole that I've been in for 2 years.

Although I don't have a job to go to.

This is my chance to change everything, to no longer do want I don't want to do.
It's a pretty exciting time....

Hope you got some rest Up.

Tops: Hows the SS Minow coming along!....?

I'm with Obo Freein.....sounds like the perfect time to make a job change. Seems more & more employers "pile on the work without compensation & even if you were compensated, we need a life outside of work.

Sister developed alopecia about 4 years ago....finally shaved her whole head 6 mo ago due to extreme hair loss. Discovered a bald spot behind my ear yesterday. My hair is currently longer than it's ever been, down the middle of my back - I can tell you I won't be handling this as gracefully as my little sis has. I see Doc in the am. Seems like there is always something going on with me anymore. Frustrated!!

The work/ life balance is crucial I think......

The people that seem to have lasting sobriety, all seemed to have made other changes too.

Whether it's been a rock bottom, relationship ending, job etc.....

When I'm reading around on the SR site, it's never like I just stopped drinking and everything else stayed the same. The long lasting members here (which I presume is a reflection of our wider community) have made significant lifestyle/job/relationship etc changes too.

It's never too late as they say in the classics........

I'm going to find some courage and I'm going to do something different when Im back home.

I watched a speech by Jim Carrey to his college, it was great. A motivation, you can do what you want, it's all in you head type of speech!

It's all in our heads!

5.

I know I couldn't stay sober in my old life Obo - I needed to change things, if I wanted lasting change.

It's been a long day here.

And now I need to pack a few things for the weekend. I'll be looking after my Mum to give Dad a break away with my brother. I'll be leaving quite early in the morning, so I might not have the chance to check in. If I don't manage to check in over the weekend, it will mean that I'm being vigilant with my carer duties! I do have a day off work on Monday, thank goodness, so looking forward to a rest then.

Have a great end to the week everyone. In for the Bargain.

Friday: You beauty!

Have a good weekend with your family Freein. I wish I still had both my parents. But, I've still got my mother to drive me crazy!

In for the bargain..........

4th day of around 35 degrees here, a real week of Asian summer. The water in HK is as bad as I've ever seen it. With the full moon, tides are high and the beaches are stacked with rubbish. I should send some photos to give you an idea. Every beach is covered in plastic, covered and the water is still holding rubbish 20 meters off shore. The consumer world we live is going to choke the environment...You can see this first hand here!

Home in 3 weeks!

Toxic, glad to be taking anna home....

Have a good weekend!
