Thanks Dee!

Need to get a quick post in to track the thread easier via that little blue checkmark

Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

Finally received some semi-closure from my doctor today. If anyone recalls, a couple weeks ago I was questioning tests ordered by my cardiologist to figure out why I was having palpitations . I gave in and did all the tests. Had my follow-up today, and as I hoped/expected, my heart is working just fine. I guess it's called 'premature ventricular contractions', which is relatively common. I'm sure alcohol was the cause and anxiety is probably what's causing it to continue. That said, my anxiety levels are magnitudes lower than the day I went to medical detox, and it seems to get better every day. I couldn't even sit down on January 13th; they had to stick an IV in me standing up...

Glad to hear everything is ok Zeebs, and that your anxiety is getting better by the day. That must be a great feeling, especially knowing that your choice to get sober has contributed greatly. Did the doctor say the palpitations will eventually go away?

Hi Lovelies,
Hope everyone is going well and staying on the right track!! I just got to 12 weeks on Monday and I'm feeling great overall. A couple of near slips along the way but I'm only 2 weeks over my longest time sober EVER! lol-
Will keep it short and sweet as I'm at work. Miss chatting to you all-I'm pretty slack at posting here..But i'm always thinking about our Group

Anyway have a wonderful day- xxx Hugs

Thanks all! Hopefully the palpitations eventually go away. Sounds like they will, and honestly, I feel pretty fortunate to not have done more damage to my body (knock on wood). Some days are tough but the improvements between now and 83 days ago are undeniable.

Hello Jannies,

Hope you are all doing well. I have a favor to ask. I spoke with my mom today and the doctor found several masses during her physical. She has been scheduled for ultrasounds of her pelvis, abdomen, back, underarm, and breast. She notices the one under her arm and on her back, but didn't feel the others.

My mom was diagnosed with lupus in 1995, and has already had endometrial cancer which caused a full hysterectomy, and radiation which she had a very serious/life threatening reaction to due to not monitoring the medication she takes for lupus.

She does not go u til next Monday, so I will be anxious until then, and also will be praying. She lives in NY, so it is difficult for me since I live on the other side of the country. I talk to my mom several times a day, because she is truly one of my best friends at this point in life. She is a woman who has given selflessly her whole life. I am asking for anyone who believes in the power of prayer to say some for my mom over the course of the next week.

Thanks so much.

❤️ Delilah

Oh Delilah, I’m so sorry that you and your mom have to deal with the anxiety of waiting to find out what is causing the masses. I will say a prayer for both of you Delilah. You stay strong and hold on to hope for a good prognosis.

I second Bandicoot on a huge celebration of Dee!! Nine years of sobriety, and nine years inspiring others. Dee, you are amazing. Thank you for taking the time to make everyone feel welcome, and always commenting with a calm, kind, wise, and supportive tone. You are one of the very best parts of SR!

Congratulations on 12 weeks, Nic. Great to see you popping in again!

Dee, congratulations on 9 whole years, wow!

Sunflower, I'm glad the family visit ended well. Good luck tomorrow!

Zeebs, I'm so glad that you went through with the tests, just knowing that there isn't anything physically wrong has to be such a huge relief!

And to all the rest of our Jannies, wising you a restful evening or blissful day!

Delilah, my heart goes out to your mother, you, and your family. Be strong and don't catastrophize, hon -- remember your Serenity Prayer.

Dee, when I began reposting in January, yours was one of the first replies, with your usual () "So what's your plan for sobriety?" And that got me thinking. Even though I've lapsed since then, your words have helped me on my path so much that I don't really know how to thank you. Congrats on your nine years, brotha -- but even more, thank you for sharing your experiences so that others may well get nine years, or twenty, or a lifetime reprieve. You're a good man ... I don't care what they say about ya.

Great to see you, Nic. It sounds like life is treating you well.

Zeebs, glad to hear things are copacetic. Keep on keepin' on, bud.

It was a rough day emotionally here, I still find myself stewing and having to consciously practice mindfulness. It sometimes feels like I'm trapped between now and then, emotionally, and I sometimes practice nostalgia -- for broken relationships and my old favorite way of dealing with them -- too goddamned much for my own good.

Time wounds all heels, right?
