Double depression
Double depression
I was clinically diagnosed with double depression.
I started meds and cognitive therapy.
Apparently I did not ask for help soon enough and I lost my job due to lack of productivity. I do not blame them and honestly, it was way too stressful, now I see it was making me feel worse as well.
Today is one of those days where I just don't see the point anymore.
I do not wish depression to anyone. It is as if you have an alternative life that only exists in your mind while in the physical world you are barely able to function. I feel like depression has made me miss out and keeps preventing me from living up to my own potential. I am sad.
Thank you for letting me vent.

Hello, '999!
I hope the meds and therapy work for you.
I personally found the most relief by working the program of AA and finding a place for myself in the world (I actually got my job at an AA meeting). If AA or other recovery meetings are not your thing, some people find just reading and posting here is enough to keep them sober.

Hi Takingcharge, I had to look up double depression - whew! It does not sound like fun. I'm a depressive too although fortunately it has been treatable with meds and exercise. However I still have bad days and weeks.
For me depression can be like climbing Mount Everest every single day. It truly does suck. I so hope you find some relief.
