Congrats to Chickchick and Altoids on reaching new milestones today! To celebrate both of your wonderful accomplishments, today we have a hot fudge sundae cake! Keep up the great work!
Bobbi-that is exciting that your trip is coming up in 2 months!
Coldfusion-the cake was a little big yesterday. Lots of leftover!
Mystified and Ceefarro-congrats on 100 and 60 days respectively!

Today is Strawberry Parfait Day. Mmmmmm... After reading today's strawberry facts, I have decided that I would like to move to Bavaria. Sounds like my kind of place.
Strawberries are one of the only fruita with seeds on the outside.
The average strawberry has 200 seeds.
The ancient Romans believed that strawberries alleviated symptoms of melancholy, fainting, all inflammations, fevers, throat infections, kidney stones, bad breath, attacks of gout, and diseases of the blood, liver and spleen.
To symbolize perfection and righteousness, medieval stone masons carved strawberry designs on altars and around the tops of pillars in churches and cathedrals.
In parts of Bavaria, country folk still practice the annual rite each spring of tying small baskets of wild strawberries to the horns of their cattle as an offering to elves. They believe that the elves, are passionately fond of strawberries, will help to produce healthy calves and an abundance of milk in return.
Enjoy your strawberries!
Hugs to all those struggling today, and love to all my friends here.

. The Sprinkler! When I was a kid , in the heat of a summer day me & my friends would go to one house that had the big front yard. We'd lay down that Slip n Slide, the Sprinkler head would rain down on us as we splashed down the vinyl slide!! Great memories for sure!
When my husband and I had our son , we put up the slide too. Funny thing happened though, that we didn't remember from our childhood. The slide killed the lawn.. Yikes! But we did it again many times for our little guy (he's 23 now) to enjoy.
I'll be checking in for the next 24 hours of my recovery. So grateful for my HP, AA, and all of you here on SR!

Great memory, Bobbi! I didn't find out about the slide until I was all growed up -- we just ran through the sprinklers.
