I know you're new NGB...But can I ask everyone again that we not have shotgun in this thread please?
The important thing in this thread is that people post, not that they post first....I really want to get that across
thanks

I call the front seat!! The days of growing up with an older brother & sister. Oh, and "crossing the line" of my tiny allotted space in that back seat. I was stuck in the middle of my siblings , on that bench seat.
So, being allowed in the front seat with my parents ....Heaven!!
I'm checking in for the next 24 hours of my recovery, always grateful to my HP ( which I call the Universe) & AA.
Congratulations to all marking a milestone in their own recovery today.

NGB,
Thinking of you. I dealt with depression too over many years during my drinking. Now sober for 15 months and counting, I feel the darkness giving way to beautiful light. Wished I'd known this sooner. Happy to know it now. It is a wonderful new way of feeling for me. I now see the sun no matter the weather, the day, the night or just life. I can feel the peace, the calm, the simple love of life is back. May you find it too.

I still get a little depressed from time to time. I'm learning how to face the lows of life without drinking. It's not always easy. Sometimes I'm tempted to drink, but deep down I don't want to lose what I have. My life is 10 times better than it was before I got sober! So why would I want to give up? I understand depression all too well. It takes all of you, AA, and my HP who I choose to call God to pull me back to reality. And I'm grateful for it!!!

First day 15 of sobriety I've had in four years, never quite got there before.
Had a real mental argument with yesterday afternoon (old decision time for buying beer), over why I couldn't have a couple of drinks as I am feeling more in control ??
Spent a long time reading this site last night due to it, good and bad experiences. It shocked me, how I even could have these feelings and how I could rationalise them after the hell of drinking and how much better I feel.
Well im human I suppose. ODAAT !! Wise words to live by. The plan was a good idea Dee, soberwolf and Soberleigh. Didn't like the idea of AA but im going to rethink today.
Another 24 hours for me definitely.
