I forgot how to work
I forgot how to work
I've been unemployed for years, and years, and years, and I think I've become so complacent in my situation that I don't even want to work.
How can I mentally get myself out of my mental state of mind? I think the longer I stay stagnant and unemployed the more likely I am going to relapse again.

Hey Amnesiac !
You seem very educated and seem to be a bit anxious adapting to a new workplace.
This happens to everyone but i do have 2 questions.
How long have you been off the booze for?
How many years have you been a solid "drinker" for?

Been sober now (today) 2 months (60 days).
Longest sobriety in my adult life was 70 days, a few months ago.
How long have I been a crazy alcoholic? My sprees started to get bad back around 2007, but in the last four years or so I was more or less a full time drinker.
I'm a spree drinker though: drink for 4 or 5 days (black out much of that time if not all of it, at this point) and then be sick for 4 or 5 days and sober for a couple more and then repeat the process.

I see.
Good thing is, you haven't been a heavy drinker for a very long time. So typically, the process of you eliminating alcohol induced anxiety attacks will be very short.
Since the longest has been 70 days (around 2 months) , that hasn't been quite much time to take out the anxiety from the alcohol.
Goodnews: 1.Guarantee you 100% if you lay off for about 5-6months, the anxiety will reduce dramatically
2. You're 60 days sober so youre only 2-3 months away from freedom!!
Badnews: There is none, youre on the right path!
Just talk to people, live your life.
If you need me to talk to, im always here.
I really cant wait to hear you say , "hey im now 5 months sober and feeling the best ever"!!!
Blessings.
