OK...home safe and sound.

JL ~ reset and forgive yourself. This is a process. Every time we fall down, we can get back up a little stronger. And we are all in your corner.

And thank you all for your support today; I needed it. And it helped me a great deal.

Love V xx

BTW, I've just remembered something that was said to me whilst I was in a recovery program.

It was coming up to christmas and everybody was gearing up to not succumbing to the temptations over the holidays. A counsellor advised us that the intensity of the effort over the holiday period and getting through it without drink can leave us extremely vulnerable once the holidays are over.

So, be aware of this and be very careful my American friends in this post thanksgiving period.

Good morning gang.

There is one final Thanksgiving Feast at my mom's today. They have a nice place out in the country so I'm hoping to spend lots of time outside. Alcohol is never served (I used to keep mine hidden in the car), but always tons of great food....so off to the gym to preburn all the extra calories I plan to consume.

I look forward to checking in on everyone's weekend when I get home this evening.

JL, You hopped right back up! Your resilience is admirable and shows your strength. Now enjoy the weekend with your family knowing that you're stronger than ever.

Sparkos, Thanks for the reminder. And yes, the urge to reward myself pops up after a big task is complete. Although enjoyable, the holidays can feel like a series of big tasks. I've got one more day of hustle and bustle. Tomorrow, I've got some down time planned to recharge. And I've got plenty of Icecream on hand if needed!

Venus, I hope you're getting that much-needed rest tonight. Lotsa love

Today, I'm 50. 50 days sober!
I'm Sally O'Malley and I'm 50 SNL skit
Thank you, SR family.

Fireworks!!! Thank you, Sparkos!

I'm celebrating with my new favorite drink... A big coffee blended with a packet of hot chocolate mix, a splash of milk, and a dash of cinnamon.

I'm at my family's thanksgiving party. There's an open bottle of white on the counter and no one around. I could pound a glass and no one would notice. It's literally making me weep. I'm not used to recovery in this context. I feel very far away from everything I've been doing at home to establish my sobriety. Please keep me tuned in. I'm going to post this on the newcomers board too.

Briar love. ... I would notice.
Please don't do it.
You'd never have one.
The day would be ruined.

Hang tough girl!

Huge hugs.

Never goes away all. I'm screwed. I drank tonight. My wife knows. Sorry I wasn't strong enough. Keep going. You can do it. I know it can be done.

Thanks for sticking with us Arbor. I'm sorry you had a slip. How about dumping anything left and start fresh tomorrow. We've all been there....I know you're disappointed, but turn in early if you can. I look forward to seeing you around tomorrow.

Yes, I've been there too many times Arbor. Turning in early is an excellent idea. The sooner, the better. Best wishes

Arbor love ~ it has taken me years to get to this point. It took a relapse after almost 19 months sober for me to really understand that I need to do whatever it takes to stay sober.

Does it go away? Well, I will always be an alcoholic/addict.
But I can be a recovering a/a.

It took a lot for me to realise that I needed to add some additional tools to my sobriety kit. I have found a support group held here by this amazing guy who talks about addiction and the brain. And a peer-support group that is held by a top rehab here. I didn't do these things before.

We can get stronger. You are not screwed. I'm sorry if your wife is upset, that must be hard to deal with as well as your own feelings.

Please stick with us here....as JL is doing....we are stronger together.
And we want to support you.

And thank you JL sweety, all of your love and support got me through a tough day yesterday.

I just did my job in BOILING hot weather, and I did it really well.
I had all of you with me. I had fun. Fed a couple of birds, and chatted to them. Saw some beautiful butterflies. And a lovely couple sparyed me with their hose to cool me off. Just a lovely morning.

See? The difference between a bad day and a good day is just about a day...oh, I forget how it goes...something like that. (Our wonderful Ann has said this so many times, you would think I'd remember. LOL).

Love to everyone,

V xx

I can't honesty answer you tonight Venus. I love your response. But tonight I'm back to square one. Mentality it's true. But u know better than I. I thought I was cool. But it took only one to make this happen. Almost two months sober. Darn it. I'll get there...

(((Arbor))) ♥

You are cool! You are just upset right now.
You know the saying...one drink is too many, and a thousand is not enough.
All of us have been there. We can learn from our stumbles. Really.

Rest. Maybe have a nice warm bath or a hot shower before bed.
And let us love you until you can love yourself again.

V xx ♥

PS. Thank you least my love!
