3 Years in Recovery.
I am approaching my official 3rd anniversary of going into Recovery!! At this time 3 years ago I was struggling in detox. A period that will forever be a blur. Sometime within the first 4-6 weeks I relapsed for a few days on a bottle of Vodka. I never finished the bottle. I poured it away and I haven't touched a drop since. From 1.5 litres of vodka a day to a lasting Recovery has been a challenge. What a challenge!! But wow have I had some help?? What amazing people surrounded me. More about these on another occasion. I can't remember all the significant dates during this time but I decided to mark my entry into sustained recovery as 1 October as this date was safely after my detox and safely after my relapse!! 3 years later and I am going to celebrate with a personal campaign saying thank you to everyone of you who helped me. Especially to those whose little almost unnoticed moments of kindness meant so much to me
