Had a great backpacking trip. The smoke was blowing away from us for all but the last day. My bike riding got me in good enough shape that I wasn't the slowest which makes for a much more enjoyable walk!

Welcome back Ilya. I hope things are going well for you.

You gotta slow down Bruce! You won't know whether you are coming or going.

Hi, everyone,

Sorry for the delay again. Was going to have a quiet break for a few days and on Sunday morning some idiot jumps a stop street an T-Bones my wife's car. Luckily with air-bags, etc she is okay, but the car is messed. So I've been going to cops, insurance, oragnising another car, etc. The irony of it is they seemed like they were drunk at first but the cops said that they were clean.

So much for a quiet week off.
Yep, D, the Ebola outbreak is really bad news. Read a story about a clinic that was raided and the patients fled. Not very good in terms of containing the virus. Some colleagues are going to DRC next week, rather them than me!

Good to hear from all of you, BB, Discovery, Ilya, et al. Really great

Discovery, you got a shotgun??

All the best,
B.

Goodness,
Back out on the mines!!

Some things never change.

Love to all you guys,

BB, Discovery, Chris, Dee, anyone I've left out.

Had enough of this career!

Cheers for now, sober for just on 6 months? Just about forgotten how to count. Cheesed off that I have to leave for a couple of days with my wife still battling to get a replacement car. This is just not fun anymore. Should be back in 2 days,

Love to all,

Bruce.

Sorry, just frustrated.

My wife put up with me being a drunk for so long and now I'm sober. I'm the guy that gets the projects away from home. She put up with so much, and now she's on her own a lot of the time, expecting me to be sober far away from home. I am sober and just frustrated that it has come to this. Almost living parallel lives. I really need to explore some kind of career change.

Love to all
Bruce.

OH, my goodness, Bruce. I replied to your PM before I had read all this...

Positive thoughts coming at you from around the globe here in NW U.S.

The job travel has to be hard on both of you - and the puggies!

So glad your wife wasn't injured. It's a lot at one time, but you will get through it!

Bruce about shotgun.

If you are of a certain generation/locale, when you go driving in a car the person who "calls" shotgun gets the front passenger seat.

In the context I am meaning here on this thread ....

Dee started a new part for our March 2014 thread. So Dee is in the drivers seat.

I posted next, so I am in the front passenger seat or the shotgun position.

Clear as mud?

Thank you BB, things just seemed a bit over-whelming for a bit there.
I just want to be around for my family. When I was drinking I was never "there" and now I'm sober I'm not there either. Like helping to take the pugs to the vet, fixing a door that's sticking, etc.
I guess on the positive side it makes week-ends that much more precious to us.
Thanks again for the kind words, BB!
Cheers to all,
B.

Thanks, Discovery!
I wasn't familiar with that expression.
Out here getting a shotgun is literally just that...

Been quite busy this week after goofing off last week. Starting to get caught up finally.

Glad to hear all are doing well.

Just been informed that my wife's car has been written off because it's too expensive to repair.
At least it was paid up but I won't be able to replace it for the same kind of car.

Really so annoying. Some guy smashes you up and then you lose the car and can't replace it with an equivalent.

At least I'm not drinking but this kind of thing is the last event that I need right now.

My poor wife is beside herself, blaming her actions no matter how much I try and tell her it's just a car, just an idiot that bashed her.
Going to be beans on toast for a while to get back to before the accident.

Be strong, everyone,

All the best,

Bruce.

Bruce that is the same way I feel about insurance. I drive older but well maintained and good driving cars. If I ever get hit the insurance company won't give me enough to get a car anywhere near the one I have.

Guess I just have to console myself with the thought of how much I have saved by using every last mile out of each car.

Hi, Discovery.

I talk so much in other threads, and no one here to listen/read.

I spent the last few days at the fair...you can read about it here, if you want:

Bim & the Fair

Sparkos, nice to see you here. Never too late to put down that bottle. I'm glad you at least thought about us

My looooong vacation is about to come to an end. In a week, I start looking for work. I wonder how long it will take me to find something?

I'm with you Discovery, milk every last mile out of those Subies.

Hi everyone. I'm just checking in with my original group. I hope that you are all well!

I made it to 93 days from March and have had a few slip ups. I'm currently in the August Class thread and will probably join the September thread too. I'm 5 days sober and 10 for the last 11 right now.

Thanks for all of your support. You guys really helped me make it to my original 90+

Sparkos: Come join us in the new class threads if you decide that you want to try again! There are a few Marchers in the threads that are still working through slip-ups like me
