Eating disorders
This may not be the place but I just wanted to post something...
I've not had a drink since July 13th. Prior to that it had been 54 days, and just over two weeks before that.
I suffer from GAD, depression and have, for many years, battled bulimia.
I'm under specialist care, mainly for my ED. I read a story today about people looking at a type of website for people like myself who do not wish to get better. I wish I'd not let curiosity get the better of me as the few posts I read pained me - my ed is an illness and, while some years ago I would have understood, I can't see how those sites can be beneficial at all. My bulimia triggered a lot of mental health problems which, ultimately, culminated in me using alcohol to 'self-medicate'. Then the alcoholism took over. Sucks.

It is funny how we often surround ourselves with validations for our illnesses. This type of negative reinforcement seems especially acute with the eating disorders (incidentally one of the most difficult mental illnesses to treat, IMO.) These websites can be "triggering" however so be careful looking at that material.
It is always sad to see any addicts not want to get better, isn't it.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I don't suffer from ED myself, but I believe there is a forum on SR for individuals who do. You might find it helpful and feel you could contribute.
Best wishes

I think this kind of self-awareness is so good. I'm 26 and was diagnosed with en ED when I was 19. I've been addicted to drugs and alcohol way before 19 though and it's so good to hear about people that know what's going on and are willing to accept help. You will find your way back, but as I'm realising now, it's going to take a while!

This mental health forum is not the most trafficked.
There is a special forum for eating disorders in another part of the site:
Eating Disorders - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information
