Grateful that I'm first on this new thread (I don't get to be first much!)

Grateful for my yoga class this evening, I'm really relaxed.

Grateful that I'm on track to finish a work project in time for the deadline on Tuesday, I've just been tackling it bit by bit each day, and sure enough it's getting done, a miracle!

Grateful to have dinner with my daughter and grandson and get sung to and given cards and gifts too!

Grateful my grandson was sharing and kept spooning me scoops of his ice cream in the restaurant. Lol

Grateful to meet a person who lives in my town today. Lives right in the neighborhood that I grew up in.

Grateful my sponsor reminded me to do a little 4th Step around something bugging me.

And grateful I didn't care when a neighbors kids were trampling my tender ground cover plants while trying to catch my cat to pet him. Kids petting the cat is more important!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful for a three day weekend.

Grateful for the extra money from the annual vacation check at this time of year along with my weekly check.

Grateful to finally meet my landlord in the house I'm about to rent. But I'm worried about things that need fixing in the house and if she's reliable enough to make sure they're fixed.

I'm grateful for the nice people I've met in AA recently. Started going again after a long and unsuccessful break.

They gave me their phone numbers but I'm afraid to call (afraid I'm bugging them). I had some strong cravings recently and wanted to call but chickened out. I'll tell them of my feelings when I see them Monday. Robin

Grateful for the sounds of home: DH and dog playing, the clock actually ticking lightly and light jazz playing.

Robin, people always have the option of not picking up the phone AND, more often than not, you are helping THEM as much as yourself by calling. I know it helps ME when people call me. It's hard to start doing it, but worth the effort. COnsider it an experiment. What's the worst that could happen, right?

Grateful for a GORGEOUS 4th and spending a lot of it sitting on my porch swing. Ahh....

And grateful for excitement about going hiking and then for some alone time up in the mountains tomorrow.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful to all those who sacrificed to make that possible.

Grateful for all I have been given freely in this life. I am very blessed.

Grateful for a spiritual moment this morning when I went to the house I'm about to be renting by the end of this month.

As I approached the front door, three cardinals suddenly showed up, one directly parallel right above my head on a branch. I got goose bumps and it just felt really spiritual.

I'm grateful for having spent a fun and sober Independence Day with sober people. Had a lot of fun !

eddie z and RZ: I know you guys are right. I've just recently been trying to overcome my crippling shyness. Now that I'm in my 40's, I'm doing better with it, but it still causes some anxiety. I'll talk to the girls about it Monday. I'm sure they'll be very reassuring.

biminiblue: That was so well put. I couldn't agree more ! You worded that beautifully !

Grateful one sister came to a independence day museum tour with me today and another came later for the parade and fireworks.

Grateful to be at a National Bell-Ringing Ceremony at The Old State House, jjoining bells ringing across America's thirteen original colonies and featuring a reading of the Declaration of Independence by people dressed in traditional costume of the time.

Grateful for a beautiful gathering with no stores open for shopping and no alcohol sold. Just several thousand people milling about on the Capitol Green, just happy to be with their family and friends.

Grateful I actually saw a new friend there I had previously made, and talked to some artists about getting involved in the local artist's scene.

Grateful I am facing my social phobia, one baby step at a time.
